Prior to Peter Jackson directing Lord Of The Rings he use to make really low cut horror movies and he made one called "Dead Alive" (Entitled "Braindead" outside of North America). It is hands down one of my favorite movies. It is really cheesy and some scenes look like they were just cut and pasted into the film but the amount of gore, blood, violence, and sick humor make this movie an absolute classic. I'd suggest watching the 97 minute unrated version.

The American is a good gangster/assassins film also.

    Horror - Event Horizon.

Thought i'd throw a few films out there not many people may have seen or heard of.
Seen all except Horror - Event horizon. Will look it up. All good movies, Flagg!

One of the only international films I've enjoyed is
"The skin I live In" has won plenty of awards and very interesting story line. It'll be made in English soon. Very well put together starting Antonio Bandaras.

Also recently seen "apocalypto" great reviews, good story.

But my favorite of all time in that genre is "12 Monkeys" !!!

I stopped watching big name, big budget films. Foreign films are great. Also straight to dvd films. Any movie on SyFy or Chiller.

    1) That's the best DLB pic ive seen you use

    2) You'll be pleasantly surprised by Event Horizon. It's a horror set on a space ship.
