Christian Bale Perhaps The Most Dedicated Actor of All Time
My favorite actor, but I think that he went too far this time.
Christian Bale didn't just gain 42 pounds to play New York con man Irving Rosenfeld in David O. Russell's "American Hustle," he also shaved part of his head to give extra life to Rosenfeld's rather elaborate combover. Bale even herniated a disc in his back as a result of his decision to give his character a slouched posture, which dropped Bale's real-life height by three inches.

It's crazy what great actors go through to out themselves in character. Have you seem American Hustle yet? It's on my to do list.

I agree they do crazy horrible things to their bodies lol. What's that new movie with Matthew McConaughey? I've only seen the previews but he's looks a he's a junkie or he has aids he lost so much weight its unreal.

that's funny. I'm going to look for that next time I see one of his movies. I hope it doesn't become a problem for me, too. Lol.
I've seen actors transform their bodyweight before but I hadn't seen some of those posted movies above. That's insane. 55kg is around 118lbs. 90kg is close to 200lbs.
