Gold's Gym changing name?
I'm just wondering if anyone else's gold's changing name or if it's only my local one, which haPpens to be a franchise. They even announced they are revamping the equipment, which kinda sucks bc I hate working out with shiny new equipment, I just hope they don't put new flat screen everywhere, qs if we go to the gym to watch tv..

Has to be a local franchise.

golds actully just bought up a bunch of gyms in my area and just went through the whole process of rebranding to the 'golds' brand, so I agreen it has to be a local franchise. Golds is a worldwide staple and I seriously doubt it would be beneficial to them to change their name.
I would be like Coca-Cola or McDonalds changing their name. why the hell would they do that?

about a year ago all of the gold's in Western New York were bought out by catalyst fitness. My gym was just bought out by L.A. Fitness..It was just a name change but I don't liking saying I belong to L.A. Fitness

I've been a member at 2 different golds franchises that bailed on golds and went with a new name once their member base was big enough. Makes sense really, one of them said they were paying over $7k a month in franchise fees and basically only getting their name.

I was glad when Gold's bought my gyms.. Now I can go to any Gold's with a travel pass when I travel instead of paying a daily fee for a session.

I have to say I really enjoy Life Time Fitness in my old age
My old workout partner hk45USP who is actually a member here just hasn't been on in probably 5 years....he still works out just moved to LA and only goes on a couple private boards well either way we were members of this grungy little 24hour fitness that was the best f***** gym....had heavy dumbbells good machines no pools spas saunas none of the bullshit and their was a group of locals there that were cool as shit....we went there religiously for maybe 6 years....got grandfathered in at 17 bucks a month so they could never increase the monthly cost.....but with all that said the last few months like I said I really enjoy Lifetime....the saunas the pools dumbbells go way heavy and the free weights are far away enough from the soccer moms that you can drop them make noise cuss whatever and nothing can be heard
the spa is awesome.....heated pools eucalyptus steam rooms huge showers towels and robes provided open 24 hours
I don't think I could go back to a power gym or a hardcore gym....you can be as hardcore as you want there and still get a manicure steam and tan downstairs plus take a few laps in the heated pool
