I just smiled and kept trucking on.
Morning.
Last night in the gym a young guy who looks new to lifting. Came over to me and told me what I was doing wrong while doing shrugs. I said to my self zero discussion with this guy just smiled and kept at it. He stood there for half a min and just walked away. It was priceless. Way better than any dialog.

This is acceptable only if the person critiquing is in better shape.

Lol luv that video.
Guy in terrible shape just nothing goin on
When I shrug I bend my knees slightly we have a body cut out bar so it goes around you body's rigid no swing draw it up hold three seconds lower when I get to fatigued to continue my sets I lower the weight a touch.

What difference does it make. If they have huge traps they can shove the bar up their butt x 8 reps for all I care. Isn't that the point? Growth? My problem with this is I don't know what makes people who are smaller than me and have been training for a decade less time than me think they need to come over and give me their opinion of my technique. They should mind their own business. Most likely they read a bunch of articles or watched some videos on youtube so now they're growth experts. P

I have an overweight friend who loves to give us lifting advice the one or two times a year he comes to the gym. We all just laugh it off. He is so funny he even said to us once he has the body of a track athlete and was being totally serious. Just guessing I would say he is 5'10", 240lbs and 45%bf. But he knows all about lifting in his own mind, even though he doesn't practice it.

Exactly. Why would anyone think otherwise?
I had some guy ask me not long ago why I was so much bigger than him but he was lifting more than me? He was doing seated rows. I said because you are jerking the weight using your biceps, shoulders and whole body and I am using proper form concentrating on just using my back. He walked away.
I thought the video was already posted in post #10. lol
You should have handed him your weight that I'm sure were to heavy for him and after he picked them up just walked away.Last edited by lovbyts; 01-19-2014 at 01:31 AM.
