position. Just because I don't agree does not make the conversation futile. One person is not right more than the other. I certainly don't teach my kids that their opinion is the only one that matters and to dismiss the alternate views of others. Is that the education you would impart on your children? Respect only your own personal view. Vehemently disregard the opinions of those who are in contrast?
Come on Steve. No way guy.

I thought your were in bed anyway? Needed to have the last word? Ok, go ahead. If your ego needs it, you can have the last word (good grief I'm talking to a fvcking child).
So much for an intellectual conversation on the original topic. Sorry OP, lets steer this back on track.

If you have to is one thing. But what i meant by my post was i saw a potential bad situation and easily could have just left and went to another grocery store( situation happened in the parking lot) but i got out of my car instead. Because i was over confident. And i came very close to having to use deadly force againt 4 men infront of my daughter. My point is dont let yout confidence from carrying. Put you in situations you could have avoided .

I have my conceal carry permit, never carry on my person but will have one in my vehicle at times. Having this permit doesn't give a person the right to whip a gun out for any reason what so ever. I was taught never to draw that weapon unless you plan on killing someone. You better have a dam good reason for using it because a jury is going to decide if you go to prison or not. At 6'1" 260lbs a jury is less likely to believe I need a gun to protect myself than my 5'4" 120 lbs wife. It better be worth it if you use that gun.

My gun & is the 1st thing I put on & the last thing I take off while at work every day. We have open carry in MI . Myself & many others carry openly up & down the street into Subway ,where ever as long as they don't have a sign up. As long as you are licensed there are no issues with carrying a firearm in any way.
I would rather have & had many customers come into my office open carrying. The guys who don't want you to see their weapon I'm more worried about.

1.Ok guns are safe when in responsible hands.
2.They keep tha bad guys guessing . Far less likely to break in if there is a weapon on the other side.
3.steve uk is under educated on this matter and presumably many others. And that's ok. We need some one to sweep the floors.
4. Carrying is my right it may help some one who does not some day.
5. Steve uk is a troll.
A bump fire stock will essentially turn your AR or Ak into an auto just for the range . No license needed.
6.It makes me happy to see like minded men and women voice there opinion.
7. The Steve uk's of the world should be listened to one time and then patted on the head for the effort. Maybe given candy .they seem to like that.

I'm kinda with Bedford. I'm not a "fan" of concealed carry but I'm all for open carry.
Personal experience I guess I had my CLP and I live in a state where open carry is legal. I also ride a motorcycle. And from time to time carrying concealed I would have a jack-hole mess with me on my bike. I'll tel you what people are much more respectful when you're open carrying. I think 80% of people walking around with a pistol on their hip and many of the crimes you hear about would be gone. An armed society is a polite society.

Has anyone here had or have seen people having a respectable one on one punch up while carrying? This is my biggest worry with guns, People losing there cool and turning a minor scrap into a murder.

The state I live in WILL NOT let me carry a gun for my profession. Meanwhile I'm responsible for dealing with murderers and drug dealers on the loose.
A week ago I was in a complex where a cache of ak47s were recovered from an apartment. They won't even allow me to use a tazer..... The most I can carry is pepper spray but the bad guys can carry anything they want.
It's a fvcked up system

I have been to dozens of countries and never feel strange not having a gun; because I know many others dont have them either. When you grow having them around it is like second nature. Imagnine if steak knives were illegal everywhere else, but you have them in your kitchen drawer. No biggie, right?

As was stated earlier by another member, if you draw your weapon and/or discharge it, many states in the US have strict laws about self defense and in a jury of your peers, there must be no reasonable doubt that lethal force was necessary.
In California, the law allows me to defend my home/property or the life of another with lethal force IF the threat of bodily injury exists:
"It is lawful for a person being assaulted to defend themself from attack if he or she has reasonable grounds for believing, and does in fact believe, that he or she will suffer bodily injury. In doing so, he or she may use such force, up to deadly force, as a reasonable person in the same or similar circumstances would believe necessary to prevent great bodily injury or death .
An assault with fists does not justify use of a deadly weapon in self-defense unless the person being assaulted believes, and a reasonable person in the same or similar circumstances would also believe, that the assault is likely to inflict great bodily injury.
It is lawful for a person who has grounds for believing, and does in fact believe, that great bodily injury is about to be inflicted upon another to protect the victim from attack . In so doing, the person may use such force as reasonably necessary to prevent the injury . Deadly force is only considered reasonable to prevent great bodily injury or death."Last edited by MuscleInk; 02-10-2014 at 11:40 PM.

I dont smoke; I'm not trying to stop those who do.
I dont drink beer; I'm not trying to take beer away from those who like it.
I dont have sex with men but I'm not trying to stop those who do. Leaves more women for me.
I dont like green eggs and ham but you may?
Leave my guns alone. You dont hear about people with concealed carry permits going around shooting places/people up. Taking them away from law abiding citizens will not get them out of the hand of the criminals. Use some logic, think it through instead of reacting due to emotions.
