Back from meeting the parents....

So I had a pretty interesting weekend that really didn't go how I thought it would. Not sure where to start. So her parents place was a bit different. They live on a small farm and are a little out there. A bit like hippies but good people non the less. I got along with everyone except Kate! It's like she got jealous or something. She was being pretty bitchy telling me how to drive etc and I'm kinda glad I saw this because I made it clear to her she's being rude. She even went off on me for buying an energy drink in front of her brothers she'll smoke and drink in front of them. I know she's under stress and there's lots more I didn't mention that was bad too. I didn't take her crap though. I was going to help her get her passport and take her on vacation in June but right now I need her to wake up or she won't be coming. I haven't said that but I might I needed to cool off and not talk to her today until I sleep on it.

Well like you said, it's good you saw this side now. Hopefully it's was just because of the stress of not really getting along with her family and she will realize her error.

The energy drink thing is funny, it's like she thinks is some sort of semi illegal performance aid but like you said smoking and drinking is OK for her.

Only her little brothers asked me my age they are 9&11. They loved me I let them punch me as hard as they could in the stomach quite a few times, they loved that it didn't hurt me at all. I know she's stressed but to be honest things aren't going the way I would like so I'm going to have to be blunt with her.

The smoking things not great before she was implying she would quit but lately who knows. She's been drinking too much and handling stress badly.

Yeah sounds like she was a little jealous and being straight with her is probably good. Ask her if she would prefer her family did not like you and if it bothers her tell her you just wont go to visit anymore.

As for the smoking you need to be firm and tell her it will be a deal breaker eventually. She is young enough to stop now before there are any consequences hopefully but it only gets harder with time.

Everyone is perfect when you first meet them but usually it doesnt take long to see the real person or their bad points especially in stressful situations. We all handle it differently.

I guess we'll see going forward I won't be able to get a good conversation in until later this week I brought her friend from up north back so she could spend some time with her. The friend is nice but damaged badly, her and her sister have a kid with the same guy and she just found out another girl is pregnant by him so that's taking a toll on Kate seeing her friend like that. I hope she just needs to spend time with her friend either way ill figure it out one way or another.
