And yet another time we were camping off the coast
over at Lime Kiln Creek (look it up if you don't know)
again sleeping outside the tent, and I had this weird dream
I was in this pasture, and there were cows all about me, mooing. Loudly. I mean real loud. It was so loud, I eventually woke up....
....because they were crop dusting the next field over.
(what a trip!)

yesterday was my day to fvck off. I sometimes over do it. Get this, I went to Costco after gym yesterday, and bought a case of wine (6). I ended up drinking four (4) bottles.
....I'm just chilling today, taking it easy. Today wasn't supposed to be a rest day, but it sure as shit turned out that way.
I have to go to the freezer and figure out something to thaw and throw on the BBQ.
I have
Baby Back pork ribs
Rack of pork
Boneless leg of lamb
A variety of beef steaks (no rib eye, damn!)
and I'm thinking some chicken too, although I have to go and see now....
....BRB

I don't drink much at all.... But today is my day off in an otherwise crazy work life. The gf is out at a rehearsal dinner, my daughter is at her uncles house..... Haz is relaxing.
I've got 1 beer out of the 6 pack left. The food is almost done..... And I'm watching bbq pitmasters on TV lol
Tonight's menu:
- bratwurst simmered in beer, siracha, liquid smoke.... And then smoked with mesquite oak chips.
- St. Louis ribs.... Brined with water, salt, apple cider vinegar, a mopping sauce, soy sauce, and liquid smoke.... And then smoked with the same wood chips.
- shoe string French fries..... Seasoned with onion salt, adobo, garlic powder

I've found it better to buy whole chickens. Shop-rite has em on sale for $5. I marinade them the day before either grill them or roast them. They come our juicy as hell and I have dinner and lunch for the next day.

I think the real "trick" to being a good cook/chef/griller is to use FRESH herbs. drives the cost up significantly, unless you grow your own. But damn, I make a great chicken soup/stew. Cut up dark meat the size of a quarter, cooked in olive oil to render off the chicken fat. Drained, then water is added, slowly, as I add the ingredients:
celery
carrots
mushrooms
and lots of cilantro
damn... I'm getting hungry now. Woman still hasn't finished the rest of the meal that goes with my BBQ chicken
