New sushi place
New sushi place opened up next to my house. I'm in love. Classy place well put together .
They have an all you can eat pick three items 36 dollars
I picked slivered smoked salmon, fresh shrimp, and California rolls. My wife and I ate a nice complete meal. She had a normal dinner type dish.
When we were done (she was done) I was still enjoying the salmon and shrimp she got bored and said I'd like to leave. So I said take the car I'll walk home when I'm done. She did she wasn't upset just wanted to get on with he evening.
I ate for just under three hours before I was satisfied I'm not a slob and I wasn't scarfing food down my neck.
But I truly packed it away. I left a generous tip and look forward to eating there often.

Sweet. Love Sushi. Although, I'm not sure I'd visit an "All you can eat" sushi joint.

The most "correct" way is to tip on percentage of the bill. If my bill was $50 then I'd probably leave $10. I generally tip in the 15-20% range of the total amount of the bill. But that's just my method.

I worked for a Japanese company for three years. Those fuggers can pack away the sashimi and saki.

I tip based on the service received.
I have no problem tipping $2 if the service sucks.
on the other hand, if the service is top notch, I'll go as high as 25%. this is infrequent.
...I mentally track a variety of things during the meal. I average the usual 15%
I had a bartender at Texas Roadhouse fast pouring my Guinness one night. I told her to slow pour it. She seemed edgy and distracted, and instead of slow pouring like I requested, she fast poured and kept pouring out the head. This is a lack of respect not only to me but to the beer as well. I didn't give her shit for a tip.

damn. that reminds me. was at another bar several years ago. I ran up the tab to almost $100. Bartender was real gabby, pushing drinks on me. More than I wanted to really pay for. My buddy had a tab running too. She took some kind of phone call, and then, right before she left, she gave us a few more drinks, and then smiled at us and said to enjoy...
....she just quit and the drinks are on her. Didn't have to pay shit.

I tipped 12 dollars the place was great the service was outstanding. They work hard. And I plan to frequent this place
It all pans out in the end .
I have spent far more money in far worse ways than helping a fellow human being
If I get bad service. I leave a nickel on a clean napkin

Dude... bbq is one of my hobbies and it's steadily growing. My smoked chicken and pulled pork are sought after (by friends and family anyway! Lol) Still developing my ribs and brisket. Making a good smoked brisket is indeed an art form! Not as easy as it may look by any stretch.

I prefer Sashimi...sushi has rice which is boiled and has some sugar added and the carbs in there are $%Q@$%@#$%...
sashimi on the other hand is pure protein
All you can eat joints usually carry a lot of sushi and maki with little sashimi thats why I usually avoid them...Last edited by Othello; 06-23-2014 at 05:36 AM.
