    Gym Noises..............

So some bloke was going all out on the bench tonight. You could hear him hollerin as he was pushing up the bells for the final few sets.

You know how it is. When you hear a ruckus like that, everyone wants to see what's going on, and even more; how much weight that beast is throwing up there. My station is facing the wrong way, but I can see a few looking in that direction to watch the show. We have a few beasts that show up, and can put up some pretty impressive weight. So I thought it was maybe one of those blokes, announcing his presence. So I turn around to look like everyone else seemed to be doing...........

..........and then I notice the bloke only had 55lb bells?

    Huh?

We had some kids like that in the gym back in the day. They would be curling 25-30lb dumbells making all kinds of loud, distracting noises. I would leave what I was doing and go to the rack, grab the 100's and knock off a set of dumbell curls beside them without making a sound, all while making eye contact in the mirror with them. Then just put them down and go back to what I was doing, the little shites would quiet down after that. I admit I will make noise from time to time, but only when I am moving some big weight.

we all make some noise. can't help it. but this bloke was hollerin so loud, almost like saying "hey look everybody, look what I'm doing."

and his buddy was there encouraging him.

I've seen blokes move 3x that much and only make 1/3 the noise.

My only thought is, if you are going to put on a show, make it a good show.

This is what happens in a public gym open to all.

We do have a more serious gym than 24hour across the street, but it's $10/mo more, and of course, not open all the crazy hours, and a smaller gym. I may have to go check it out again............

Luv em. Can't workout without them anymore. I do Bluetooth type. Wires pull ear buds out when I am running and I don't get wrapped up in my wires.

Sometimes I am not listening to music. They r just decoys so I can ignore ppl without being rude.

I train with headphones now, the music in the gym is unbearable. We have free wifi so I stream sound cloud, love it. I just had to buy a new pair of headphones, the ones that came with my phone took a shite, got some nice pioneer ear buds for $40.

I make some noise mainly breathing hard on a heacy set you have to to hold your breath on the power up movement then let it out on the negative if you don't have to do that your clearly not lifting heavy enough.

But there is some ridiculous people out there who think being distracting is the way forward

I also love music for motivation and blocking people out too

I never buy expensive ones because the cord always gives out after a few months of being in my pocket.

Only noises I make are when I exhale.
And a little sigh of relief when I do squats and finish the last rep of the last set.

I always laugh when I hear people making that hissing sound on every rep. That drives me nuts!! If your throwing down on some heavy steel your going to grunt.
