'Earth-size' UFO spotted orbiting the sun in NASA Images [Report]
So what's up with all the recent UFO sightings? It's getting harder and harder to say they are all bogus......................
'Earth-size' UFO spotted orbiting the sun in NASA Images [Report] - Tampa Bay Tampa Top News | Examiner.com
Scott Warring posted images on UFO Sightings Daily on October 25 and suggested that what he observed from NASA photos was evidence of a UFO that rivals the size of Earth. Reportedly, it's not the first time the unidentified flying object was seen orbiting the sun. Apparently, astronomers and officials in Russia warned about spotting UFOs of this size in the Solar System back in 2009.
“
"I check out the SOHO photos every day, and was fortunate enough to catch this massive ship as it was exiting or entering the sun. This UFO is solid as you can see. It is as large as Earth itself. Look closely at the surface of it. There are no flames or heat changes. Its color does not change on its surface...unlike the sun itself which has many mixing colors. Russian scientists alerted the world over 5 years ago to the UFOs that flew around the sun in orbits that suddenly make hard right angles and changes in speed. This is one of them."
This is turning out to be a banner year for UFO sightings from all over the world. More websites and blogs are cropping up and supplying “evidence” that proves extraterrestrial life exists beyond this planet, perhaps, even beyond this galaxy.
Granted, some reports of unexplained flying crafts are military and amateur drones, while others are simply UFO hoaxes. However, as time goes on and advances in imagining technology increase, footage is becoming clearer. Gone are the days of grainy images that are merely tricks on the eye. That has been replaced super-speed high-definition cameras.
NASA has not commented on the Earth-sized UFO seen in the latest digital images. Could it be a camera fault, coronal ejection, or solar flare?

I had a great discussion recently with someone who worked on the Hubble telescope, and I consider very knowledgeable and levelheaded. It turns out he's a firm believer in ufo's as are several of his co-workers in the scientific and astronomy industry. I've always believed that it's silly to think we are the only living beings in the universe. He was shocked that I didn't think he was nuts

I think to a certain extent that those that believe tend to find jobs similar to your friends job. So I'm not surprised that even though probably a level headed, intelligent, and educated individual, the believing thing doesn't surprise me.
I'm not saying he's wrong. Definitely not. How many that work with/for SETI do you think do not believe? It's a passion thing.

Yes,and the other thing that I found odd, or I should say I didn't expect is he is very active in the Catholic Church.

one can be very spiritual and yet believe in the scientific approach. no contradictions I can see. Yet some in these relic institutions we call "church" feel threatened by science. I think to a certain extent, those that do, believe in the "god of the gaps", meaning that when something is difficult to understand, they attribute that something to god, just like we did early on and deified the sun because we couldn't explain it properly at the time. Called "god of the gaps" because god is used as a primary explanation anytime we have gaps in knowledge.
But there are many that are spiritual, and do not feel the need to blame god for phenomenon we are not able to explain yet. These individuals are the ones I find interesting to talk to, and is probably how your friend is.
