Help me out here guys
Ok, I've decided on getting the Inzer Forever Lever belt. The only thing I can't decide on is if I want the 10mm or 13mm thickness. I've spent the past 2 weeks reading reviews on both on many different sites; I even read a couple threads on this forum. It seems as though there are pros and cons to both. Here is what I've gathered in my research (yes, some reviews contradict others):
10mm belt
Pros:
Cheaper
Does not take as long to break in
Many claim it provides more than enough support, and the 13mm is overkill
Allows more mobility when getting into the deadlift position
Cons:
Does not provide as much support as the 13mm
While sufficient for day to day lifting, go with the the maximum thickness allowed (13mm) in competition
13mm belt
Pros:
Gives more support than the 10mm
Better when lifting extremely heavy
Once broke in, is just as comfortable (or uncomfortable) as the 10mm and provides just as much mobility in deadlift as the 10mm
Cons:
Takes longer to break in
More expensive
Great for heavy squats but some say it's difficult to get into deadlift stance
10mm is all you need; 13mm is overkill
About me:
31 years old, 5'8", 220lbs. I compete in powerlifting.
So, which would you go with?? As you can see by my stats, I'm not a really tall guy so it worries me about being able to deadlift with it on. I talked to a guy at the gym with a 13mm, and he says he loves it and would never go back to a 10mm...but he's also 6'6" tall. I never thought that deciding on a belt would be this difficult. My first thought was to just buy both, but considering the 10mm is going to be about $80 and the 13mm about $100, I have to look at the financial part of it too. The only belts I've used are old, worn out 10mm double-prong at my gym. Never tried a 13mm, but in all honesty, this is what I'm leaning towards unless someone talks me out of it.
Can I get some feedback from members here who have tried both thicknesses?

That being said I meet someone at a meet who had both and he prefers the 13mm. He pulls 575.
I am sure that didn't help you at all.

No experience with the belts. But it sounds like I would just spend the extra $20 and get the 13mm.

10 is fine, 13 takes a LONG time to break in, 10 is very thick itself.

Thanks BG. Which do you use? If you've used them both, after the break in period, which do you prefer? I'm only asking because I've read a lot of reviews that say after the 13mm is broken in, many people really like it.

Maybe you should consider the 10mm I just looked at your stats 5'8 220 is pretty damn stout. Im 5'9 200 and belts can feel uncomfortable. Like everyone on here always say more doesn't always mean better. Alright I'm sick of it just get the 10mm. Lol

Comments like those above are the risk you take posting in the lounge. Haha good stuff guys. Leaning more towards the 10mm now. If I feel I need something more in the future, I'll bite the bullet and get the 13mm.
Thanks for all the replies (both the serious and facetious).

Go with the 10mm, its plenty sufficient.
I recently got the Inzer 10mm Forever belt and even this takes a while to break in.
I can only imagine how long it would take to break in a 13mm
EDIT:
Right after buying my Inzer I discovered another company I wish I had gone with.
Same exact belts except they offer some really legit customizing if you're into that.
Check their stuff out on instagram, google "pioneer_fit instagram"Last edited by DrewZ; 07-10-2015 at 07:32 AM.
