    Iron Mike's best KOs...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sccD...hThwe7ufovPfNw

With Austinite and Jimmyinkedup posting some Boxing highlights, & best fights ever - I went back to see his early days!

Well he fought 18+ times from his debut in early 85 to early 86 w/countless KOs w/in the first round... Man I forgot how crisp his punches were!

"Young" Mike Tyson was unstoppable. Too bad Cus D'aMato passed away because he was the only person that could keep Mike out of trouble. Def the baddest man on the planet in his prime........too bad he ended up so fuked up. His talent, determination, and power were unmeasurable!

Yup - losing Cus was the end of him and his Father Figure as well - plus Cus taught him everything from life lessons to fighting!

He always had that will to FINISH/PUNISH anyone off at anytime!

It's shitty thinking about what he coulda been. Such a talent.....

I read somewhere that getting punched by mike Tyson was the equivalent of holding a telephone book to your head and letting Ken Griffey Jr swing with a baseball bat.

There is no one in any manner of boxing that is like Mike he was just an absolute beast.

Everlast used send in extra heavy bags for him to practice on when he was training in gyms before fights. He used just smash his opponents to pieces from his sheer skill ans strength.

No one comes close to him nowadays hence why the UFC has taken over for boxing but even that is getting to professional ie the fighters are learning to score points on each other and do just enough to win. Which is sad although I am still going to a fight night in October over here just to see it live.

Geez - and Griffey Jr had one of the fastest swings(over 100mph thru the strike zone - Garry Sheffield was another). -- I couldn't imagine what gettin' punched or smashed in the face with a bat on a phone book -

Which would you take guys?? LOL

His mindset was to destroy and punish anyone in that ring - he's a natural - and has that killer instinct to want to hurt people and make sure they're done... I Never saw it in another fighter like he possessed!

    I love sports similes.
Jess Willard said of Jack Dempsey: "Punching Jack feels like punching a tree."
Frank Trigg said of Matt Hughes: "Trying to choke out Matt Hughes is like trying to choke out a telephone pole."

Agreed he had that instinct to just batter anyone in his way to destroy them. He was not only huge in a physical sense but he had the speed of someone half his size which made him very dangerous imo.

I used to walk to the arcade by my house and play the real game. Had a real big red button when your knock out upper cut was full. I had to keep it quiet though, I was to young to cross the highway. Fav all time game, still want one in my house!

Tysons big strength was his power from a very short distance if you watch a lot of those knockouts he had from upper cuts or short distance right or left hands.

And the size of his traps and front and delts insane

He had everyone beat b4 the fight started... And yes DCI once he saw someone going down - he wanted to hurt them - you saw it in a couple fights where on the way down he wanted to really hurt someone and FINISH them - no one I've ever seen but him had this killer instinct and no other fighter has ever come close to having that killer instinct than he did! So awesome!

Exactly man. He had that I want to fck you up mentality.

Nowadays most fighters are there to get the pay check look at that utter waste of time Mayweather what he does in fights to "win" I think Tyson never cared whether he got hurt or lost he knew he wanted to smash his opponent to pieces

What are you even talking about? Mayweather is a great boxer. He lands WAY MORE punches than his opponents and he's a great strategical fighter...He's the highest paid athlete in the world...SOmethings working

Also b/c he won't take a fight unless he's gettin paid wayyy more then the opponent -

Is he a great boxer - yes - is he fun to watch - NO! Boring as hell - unless he actually catches someone w/s counter punch and actually knocks em down lol

He's got nothing on Tyson's will to hurt and punish people - not including his sheer intimidation - Tyson had his opponents beat b4 even stepping in the ring

Yeah when it comes to entertainment value I dont think you can compare Tyson to Mayweather. Even if you are into boxing as a science for pure entertainment Tyson is in a different league than Mayweather. Lets face it the ultimate in boxing is the KO, and no one had the sheer devastating KO power and execution that Tyson had. People are right, you could literally see the fear in his opponents eyes at times. At that level that is virtually unheard of.

I think Tyson was more entertaining and i liked Tyson better i can just appreciate Floyd's fighting style because it's unique and it's extremely impressive to watch him dodge 10 punches in a row and then get a really good uppercut on someone when he should have been dead meat....That's what's entertaining to me...The composure he keeps....Alot of people trapped in a corner would just blindly be throwing punches and be nervous throwing in the town...Not Mayweather...Calm as anything..
