    Halloween 2015

Well it's almost that time of year again and I'm going to start setting up or at least getting everything out of storage. I'm adding some visual effects this year. Ive already got 4 projectors and maybe will have a 5th by then and will be adding most of the atmosFX videos. This is basically what I am adding.

This was some of my stuff from last year. I will try to remember to get pictures actually set up this year.

Damn lov you go all out huh? Me and the HAW are still undecided on this year's costumes, but we need to finalize things pretty quickly. Last year we were Mary Poppins and Bert, the year before we were characters from a league of their own.

Yeah pictures dont due it justice, I have about 4x what it shows and takes 3 full days to set up or more. It will take another full day because of all the video stuff this year with 4 projectors but it should be fun.

Lovbyts, are you just trying to lure young girls in there and scare them?

Now why would you think that? Giggity Giggity

Man I have to say some of the costumes on some of these Young Teens girls the last couple of years have made it worth setting up the garage. Maybe I need to have a secret private entrance/tour into the house for a select few?

It's funny almost every year I get at least 2 or 3 girls who after getting 1/2 through the garage and past several of my life size animatronics when they get to the back where I am at in my costume they think I am just another prop they try to give me a hug and jump several feet when I reach out for them also. lol

Man I don't have the "drive" to do that stuff anymore. Christmas too..... Used to light up the whole house and had an outdoor scene with elves, reindeer, etc.

Setting it up was always fun but taking it down was worse than getting sick with the flu.

When I was a kid I was on the roof putting lights up. Ha a 40' ladder, thousands of clear C9 bulbs..... It was a spectacle. The electric company loved me.....

I'd have it up in 4-5 days but I'd piss and moan for two weeks about taking it down lol

I figured out how to do the outside lights for Christmas several years ago and swore I was going to market it. Now it's marketed of course. I just use a cheap $15 green/red projector off of amazon and project onto the house. I can do stationary or rotating.

Well Damn, I tried to get an early start but like usually it didn't happen. I am a few days ahead of typical schedule and even with having to work a couple extra days this week I SHOULD get it set up with a day or two too spare.

This was my pile I got pulled down out of storage the other day.
    Halloween 2015-12118946_10153669216984719_3508256703086650325_n.jpg Halloween 2015-12036793_10153669217274719_6729184961767319567_n.jpg

I bought one of those small helium tanks a couple of years ago you can guy most anywhere now days that only fill like 30 balloons thinking you can refill them; You cant. I wanted to fill a dozen or more balloons with flashing lights inside flying above the house. Instead I got a welding tank filled with 2000 psi of helium that should be good for 1000+ balloons. lol

The cauldron and fire/hot coals I also made last week. It was surprisingly easy and cost about $10. 1 $4.50 box of orange fading Halloween lights from target, 1 can of spray foam from Home Depot and a little flat back spray paint.

Carving is not what it use to be. No more knives. People use dremels now. Thats cheating. I'm HOPING it wont rain. That would suck. Normally we get over 100 kids. I'm expecting more this year.

I set that up in the very back of the garage propped up against the wall and I stand in it with the bottom half closed and the top open then open and step out in my costume.

Well as normally it didnt go quite as planned. First off we had heavy rain off an on and strong wind, 45 mph. Made it impossible for me to do a couple of the videos I wanted to do so I could only do the ones in the window (2) and one on the front of the house.
Also a few of my props didnt function quite as they should and 2 fog machines that worked prefect a couple days before stopped working.
For the most part it was still a success and we had over 100 kids, maybe closer to 200 and most everyone was impressed.

You can see more details here with the lights on but of course you dont get the special effects.

Oh and of course I was still working on things up to the last minute and didnt even have time to wear my costume this year.
