National Do Not Call Registry
Time to fight all those annoying phone calls from banks and what not.
July 1st it goes live and its free to add your name to the list.
companies must scrub your number off their lists once this goes live.
will not catch everyone but anything helps!

In my industry (fin. svcs.), cold calling is promoted...I did 200 calls a day the first 2 years at this...but I don't have to do it anymore. I used to be tolerant of callers when they called me at home because I could relate. Now, I just hang up.

I signed up my phone number to the donotcall.gov list 2 years ago when it first came out.... they still keep calling me all day. It never stopped, so I don't know what all the fuss is about imo

go to one of those sites, that have pre-recorded voices and prank the spammers with that. I like to use the guy from napolean dynamite.

Play stupid and indecisive. Let them begin their stupid sales pitch and continuously ask question, making them repeat what they've just said. In due time, they will get highly annoyed and hang up.
If they sales pitch include coming to your place to complete the sales transaction, remain unavailable.
There's a guy who often calls the Howard Stern Show and plays these calls for Howard and the listeners to hear. He is a telemarketer's nightmare.

..I ask them to please hold; I'm in the middle of taking a dump and I was taught it's bad manners to grunt over the phone.....if there still on the phone when you get back, tell them to be patient because you feel round 2 coming on....

my story: I used to get a shit load of solicitation fuggers calling my home especially during the day (I work from home). I was reluctant to give up my numnber to the donotcall.gov site but I broke down and did it. Now, 2 months later I don't get any jagoffs calling me. I used to always do what swole recommended, I even faked shooting my wife with a starting gun with the caller on the phone.. Bottom line it just gets old. donotcal.gov has worked for me
