JIHAD - in Cali?
I am sure everyone is hearing about the horrific shooting that took place yesterday in California, thoughts and prayers go out to all of the families involved.
It happened in a gun free zone.
Seems that they had a plan and had a house with dozens of IEDs. Reports are that the male was radicalized in Saudi Arabia in 2013.
Of course, the media was reluctant to call it a 'terrorist' attack at first.

Absolutely a sad ordeal it seams that these events are becoming far to often. And I feel that it's going to get much worse. The people I work with are talking about this a lot and no one seems to have a great solution.
How do you fight the hidden threats that are intertwined inside of our own communities ?

My "favorite" thing about this is how many idiots tend to say this doesn't happen anywhere in the world except in the U.S. It was somewhat mind blowing that the president himself said this as he was standing in Paris only weeks after a mass shooting. Here's a good chart that shows the breakdown of reality:
If You Look at This Chart of Top 10 Nations in the World for Mass Shootings – One Thing Jumps Out
The first thing that stands out to me is that the top 5, 4 are socialist countries and all on the list have strict gun control - most countries outlaw them. Doesn't seem to be helping. And while the U.S. is 6th on the list, considering its population is enormously greater than all others and more diverse culturally, in my opinion that says a lot.
And no, regardless of the facts of this incident, when they come out fully, the media and current administration will never call it islamic terrorism even if it is blatantly. They can't say it and won't.

Well said
That chart is perfect
I still believe that having more armed knowledgable citizens of the law abiding type is the best thing for society.
And I have been advocating that local school teachers Cary concealed. If they choose to of course .
Schools are easy targets for any terrorist looking to make a statement. We have taken part in training a lot people who wish to have the option to protect themselves and any one near them.

Time to buy more guns!!! I've been looking into a new 1911 pistol, and been debating either getting a single stack or double stack magazine. I guess 14 rounds of .45 look a lot better than 8 after all these shootings now.

Ya I know.
I believe that this is what is necessary to stop the mass murders and threats of terrorism. If you wanna die for your cause I want to help you.
Think it over please.
If the bad guys have no idea who's packing heat. They might just decide to stay the **** home and behave. And if the bad guys walk in where they don't belong and pull a weapon the first armed citizen that sees him draws aims and kills that person tragedy averted

!911s only accept single stacked mags. 2011s use a double stacked mag but are too big a heavy to carry all day. They were originally intended for target shooting.
You're better off getting a pistol chambered in 9mm. Shot placement is more important than bore size. 9mm ammo is less expensive so you can practice more often. Plus it has less recoil making it more pleasant to shoot and follow up shots faster.
Everything Kel-Tec makes is a POS. Their firearms look awesome in pictures but don't deliver in real life. Look into Remington 1100s. Gas operated shotguns have much less perceived recoil than a pump shotguns. Plus you never have to worry about short stroking an autoloading shotgun when in a defensive situation.

45 acp is a great round but it's more expensive than 9 mm even if you reload. The cheaper the ammo the more you can practice. Plus carrying a 1911 all day is a workout. I'd rather carry a lighter pistol with 16 rounds over a heavier one with only 8.
My glock 19 loaded with 16 124 gr rounds is 30.7 Oz. My Kimber Custom II is 38 Oz without a magazine.
An LCP with a lasermax is a nice package. I got one for my sister to carry.Last edited by numbere; 12-05-2015 at 08:03 PM.

LaserLyte makes one for the LCP that's mounted on the side of the frame. It's less bulky and about half the price of the lasermax. I've mounted a few but have no real world experience and can't vouch. The lasermax is completely bomb proof.

They're great for keeping small kids out but not much else because the
locking mechanisms commonly used are cheap. They can easily be opened with a pry bar or by simply dropping them on the floor. They're nice when used on a hidden wall safe. I have one in my foyer that looks like a painting.

Ive been watching the news and once again they are blowing some thing WAY out of proportion. I hate it when they say someone had an arsenal of weapons and ammo. They are making a big deal out of 2000 rounds of 9mm, 1000 of .223 and 1500 rounds of long rifle (probably 22) ammo. Thats not all that much or expensive. I wish they would just stick to facts and stop blowing things out of proportion.

Imagine their faces if the ever saw Jerry Miculek's basement lol.
It also kills me how they are reporting that the firearms used were purchased legally. Yeah they were, but it was a straw purchase from another state and they were illegally modified. If an average citizen had one of those rifles they would have been charged with a dozen felonies.
