That's shocking I thought it was only ours what was fucked up, I always wish we had harsher sentences like the USA but those two are the wrong way round.

exactly Marcus, backwards. the guy who smoked a plant that mother-nature gave us got 21 years! the scum who sexually assaulted unconscious woman got 3 months.

That's so messed up.
That swimmer should have been sent to a real prison where he would have gotten some inmate justice for 3 months.

the system is too big and too messed up to be untangled by the people who as an inner organ had let it become to what it is today, passively and blatantly.
I know one by himself cannot do much to change the system, move it with the force of ambition for greater good, although many who would follow steps of such man - may have a slight chance to take attention of the system and people around, but to turn masses in to the light, make them truly believe and live this way, move and fight for life and what's right, logical and practical, it would most likely take a WMD's and some unheard of SciFi stuff from MiB on a critically high scale, to really make an impact.
In recent past I was attending some seminars where few philosophers shared their views how the world and people we live with around us had ruined the world itself or let it be ruined almost consciously by neglecting the ramifications of living sedating lifestyles, because it takes no effort to let it all slide, where it actually takes a real will power and sacrifice to stand for good, how nobody wants to take these steps because the core-structure of life that one would be stepping out of is so fucked up, "nobody will get paid for doing the right thing", likely be cut out from the system itself by enforcing system laws and protocols, and families behind the initiators of the raise against the corrupt system will be left to suffer consequences directly or indirectly afterwards. Those without the families behind or reasons to live rich fulfilling and much giving life are ones who have nothing to loose but yet lack the very reason to step forward.
Its a complete paradox.
No matter what people turn to do, it will never end for as long as the human race walks this planet. Its so true, its actually sad.
I believe if people lived to be 1000 year of age, it would change somewhat, but because we're all limited to ~100year of a cap for our lives and that is if one lives healthy stress-free life, we're all pressured to do the most with the least, yet to enjoy and avoid suffering, so, that's what we have, fucked up system to its core.

I would argue that it has to do more with the fact that people with money can have a much better legal team. It should be one rule for all but people With money seem to be able to bend rules
