Seems odd to me. Especially this line:

"In contrast upping testosterone in a man with prostate cancer is generally considered similar to pouring petrol on a fire."

That's old school dogma thats been debunked years ago. Elevated T does not cause prostate cancer, yet low T is less protective. I'm not sure how T would do this in the prostate considering the prostate saturates with T at a level of around 240 ng/dl from memory. Meaning more T doesn't enter at that point. Dr. Morgantaler's (best in the business) Saturation Model shows this.

I guess the article is a bit vague.

I can only theorise, that there may be some link in connection to specific patients, that have some DNA mutations and are prone to prostate cancer, maybe prostate may be able to take in more testosterone , and for most suspiciousness that somehow natural testes production of testosterone may stimulate uptake of more testosterone by prostate, plus it could be down to testes too great E2 production that goes hand in hand with cancer cell production. Its rather long shot in the dark, but when I think it almost also makes sense. testicles are being shutdown by oral drug administration, therefore no T no E2 is being produced (lack of testes production stimulation or elimination of E2 excess excreted by testes), then patients being given great doses of T, probably also short ester, so it further suppress HPTA further causing body of depletion and not letting human body to recover from longer shutdown... and probably not all was said, they may have fed this patient with high doses of AI also.

couldn't find full detailed breakdown of what exactly has been done/used

Someone I know just went through prostate cancer treatment and has been getting test shots as well... well, he said "hormone shots" so I assume it's test...

Normal treatment for prostate cancer includes complete androgenic hormones castration. Although I've read the same Dr. Morgantaler you mention, the guidelines for treatment have not change one bit, if you check prostate cancer website you will notice this.

This article is not for medical community, so its very "non-technical".

It may still be normal but it is changing. It can take decades for practices and methodologies to change in the medical community. Testosterone doesn't play a part in pca growth and it doesn't "fuel the fire" like they used to think. Testosterone surely gets a bad rap here. No doubt we've read many of the same studies. We either have to much time on our hands or are bored easily.

    Here's an interesting short article:
