Girlfriends first workout in 6 years

This weekend my girlfriend finally decided to work out with me in the gym

She's really gung-ho about it Kama I hope she maintains this attitude when it starts getting half step beginner easy stage

Had her do back and biceps Saturday and Sunday sunlight chest working out as well as 30 minutes on the exercise bike

It also has encouraged me and gave me a little more motivation having a nice partner to work out with

I was impressed with my gf's performance, 70lb wide grip lat pull downs , 4 sets of 8 to 10

    Incline db presses with 25lbs

    Db rows with 35s

    Strict curls with 30lb bar

    Walked steps for 20 min

    That's all upper body.

    Squats.

Chicks who do squats get awesome butt and legs.

How do I introduce her to bench pressing without the classic "noodle arms form" like a new born deer?

Put her on the machines first.

When I started there was no machine, and as a kid I had always good physical skills.

Its easier for someone who might not have the motivation of an iron head to start slow, and with controlled movements the machines provide.

Try to make someone, which we can describe as non-athletic, to try and make deadlifts or back squats and you will have a very hard time making that person understand the correct form. They dont recognize their muscles, or know how use them. There's no mind-muscle connection.

Of course, if we are talking about a motivated athletic person, used to do all kind of sports, then by all means start with free weights.

I started on machines but should have started with weights. I am very in tune with my body.

The most unnatural movement for me is squats.

She has been actually, gave her 350$ for Christmas (also tons of gifts)

    She went and bought
5lb, 10lb,15lb,&20lb dumbells, dumbbell handles curl bar and plates.

I saw this and my heart grew 3 sizes, then I took it all back and gave her extra gear I had (extra weights , plates, bars and such, not actual 'gear')

She got to keep the curl bar and abb roller thing,

I told her she could have had mine stuff, she didn't want to ask cuzz she though i used it.

Been a good 3 weeks she's at it hard.

I wanted to post before n afters, but she ain't cool with it. I'm sure in a month or 2 wen it all starts to show, ill have to monitor her facebook. Lol

Don't let her do too much too soon. I love DOMS but there's a threshold to how much even I can tolerate after coming back after being off!

I hope she sticks with it. She will have to watch her diet closely too so she doesn't eat more cal then just burned.

She dose watch diet. Type 1 diabetic.

I actually been working with her doctor getting her diet proper to minimize high and low swings.

This is her currently, she told me I could post if I cut off her head.lol

Ill have to bring her to gym outside of home for that.

No squats though, I don't believe in them unless doing lifting competitions.

Leg press, hack squats, extensions, leg curls.
