LA fitness overcharging?
So Im switching gyms to have one close by work and home, so I can get there right after work instead of sitting in traffic for an hour, then getting to the gym. LA fitness sales guy tried to push me for the "paid in full" membership, which cheapest was like $400 first year, then $300 a year. Or if I wanted to go monthly it was a $99 initiation and 49.99 monthly (which was printed on the flyer I took home). Told him I was going to wait and figure out which way I wanted to go. But I looked online when I got home and the monthly was $29.99 for all clubs, or 19.99 for single....not 49.99. Also this is a regular LA fitness, not a signature.
Do these guys get higher commissions for selling really high memberships, or was I getting royally screwed, or was he just upcharging me for something stupid that I would never even use? I feel like I had a lit more options to choose from, and he only made it seem like I had a limited amount.

Yeah I saw that online, thats for a single club. The multiple clubs was for 29, which is what Ill do. Even the signature multi location was only 39, not 49. Thats why I hate most sales people, I never sign for anything the first day. I always need at least a few days to think about something before buying.

Mine was for any club in the US. Racketball courts.
Bring in the info you found. Ask to speak to the manager not a sales person and lay it out for him. He has the ability to make a deal. It's funny actually. They only get credit for the number of people who sign up not the amount. My buddy managed several LA's for years. Corporate gives them a number say like 75 new this month.

You know who overcharges. Equinox. Good god they got a great thing going for rolling around in them bills, but yeah, I LA fitness operates regional pricing for initial sign-up. I'm in L.A. and is 29.99 confirmed.
