    Weights and measures

    PESOS E MEDIDAS

    É muito comum, às vezes, esquecer quantas unidades de medida diferentes das nossas usadas no Brasil. Portanto, quando encontrar certas etiquetas ou embalagens estrangeiras, ficamos confusos

    1 lb = 453 grams
    1 kg = 2.2 lb
    1 fl. ounce = 29.5 ml
    1 ounce = 28.4 grams
    1kg = 35 ounces
    1 lb = 16 ounces
    1 gallon = 3.8 liters
    1 fl. oz. = 29.5 ml

    Sometimes it is even difficult to understand a nutrition plan in this forum when they come from different cultures.

    So far, I have tried to adapt international measures to better understand !! ...

    How much is each of them worth, so that I can advance the knowledge of nutrition in this precious forum

    It is very common, sometimes, to forget that there are units of measurement different from ours used in Brazil. So when we come across certain foreign labels or packaging, we get confused

    1 lb = 453 grams
    1kg = 2.2 lbs
    1 fl. oz = 29.5 ml
    1 oz (ounce) = 28.4 grams
    1kg = 35 ounces
    1 lb = 16 oz
    1 gallon = 3.8 liters

    This is supremely useful, davimeireles. For the most part, Americans and Europeans only know about Brazil for the beautiful women, but it is important that we learn about international units of quantification.

    I'm curious, davimeireles, what is the common Brazilian view on loss? How do Brazilians see, for example, bereavement, or any kind of life-changing loss?

    I was very confused about international quantification measures until I decided to know more about them. It may be very helpful for me to understand the diet session of this forum.

    Yes, this fascination with Brazilian women is normal, because they are really delicious by nature!

    Well, Brazilians have a strong mindset against life's disappointments. We may suffer from time to time, but we neglect the losses that life causes us!

    Are you saying that Brazilians disregard the worst loses they suffer in life?

    Is loss important to a Brazilian person? If a Brazilian person loses something, do they lament?

    I think that in every society there are people who complain. But what I am saying is that Brazilians are emotionally strong

    A question for you:

    Are the people of your country receptive to foreigners coming from other countries?

    I've ran into this issue of different measures in writing diets cause of having clients from various parts of the world ..
    If I write a diet that has 6oz of steak and 1 cup of rice in a meal for a person in the UK they are not used to that and ask me how to calculate into grams

    the main thing that matters is what everything equates to in macros (protein, carbs, fats).
    6oz of steak is 42g of protein. 170 grams of steak is 42g of protein . its the protein thats the important measure and not wither you use grams or oz.
    1 cup of rice is 45g of carbs. 200 grams of rice is 45g of carbs . does not matter if you measure by cups or grams, as long as the total macro itself remains consistent

    I generally write diets in ounces in protein portions and cups in carbs sources.
    example
    6oz chicken
    1 cup rice
    1 cup spinach

    but sometimes I have to switch things over to grams for some people

    I agree with this logical adjustment of units.

    Yes, this is confusing for people from different countries.
    I'm used to just calculating macros in grams.

    The UK has a queen. The queen is above the law, she cannot be prosecuted for any crime. Also she travels around the world without a passport, because UK passports are issued in the queen's name.
