    What does AR stand for

I see in older threads that this site was referred to as AR for short. What was this meant to stand for?

    Just curious

Johnny Knoxville has done some serious damage to his body, but manages to make it funnier than hell.

The goof with the bottle rocket up his ass is Stevo, a major nut-job.

Absolutely. Brilliant. That is the issue in a nutshell.

They persecute that rifle, wanting to eliminate it from society, based solely on it's looks, not what it can do. Compare it to the Mini-14. Same caliber, same round capacity, same knockdown power. Yet, based on its looks, it is not subject to being banned.

Its an example of what happens when you dont have subject matter experts involved in writing laws.

Would those assholes write stock market or bank legislation without the input of finance industry folks? Of course not.

Would they write legislation that regulates the medical industry without input from medical professionals? No way.

How about legislation related to mine safety? Will they have any experts on mining giving input? Sure.

SO then why do they just wing it and try to write gun control legislation without any input from subject matter experts? Banning a rifle based on its visual appearance alone is absurd. But its what happens when you dont have anybody from the field of firearms giving direction and advice on potential legislation.

And its why the industry will always stay a few steps ahead of them, creating guns that are functionally equivalent to banned models, but do not fit the requirements necessary to actually be banned.
