Cases went down in my state. Everything started getting better but.... The governor decided he still wants to be the emperor and hasn't opened everything.

I'm in NY here and it's a total shit show cases peaked back in April and are now below what they were when they decided to shut everything down.
Honestly it wasn't even that bad the majority of people who died were past their life expectancy, and had multiple health conditions most had mild or no symptoms at all. Last number I heard was 80% if people that had it didn't even know it.
Numbers still continue to decline despite reopening, and the thousands of people we had rioting in the streets yet our governor said gyms and malls will not be open for the foreseeable future although they were told they were going to be allowed to at multiple different points.
they even have a hotline to report your friends and neighbors for having gatherings.

This is from the NYS website over a month ago. Gyms and fitness centers are allowed to open with restrictions... restrictions gyms and fitness centers must remain closed??? To top it off they put this out hours before they were supposed to open so gyms allredy brought employees back and it's happened 3 times.

the gym issue here in new york is despicable. You want us to stay healthy, but you dont want us to exercise? And we cant run outside in metro areas because people are getting hit by cars and rioting over this cnn race war. Ive lost 15lbs since my gym closed. I cant do fucking push ups forever. Ive never been so disappointed in myself aesthetically. Open the gyms and if someone isnt comfortable going, they dont have to! UGHHH AUGHHHH

My gym re-opens tomorrow at 6am. My routine the past few months since they closed has been to run 6.2 miles and do press-up's and chin-up's Monday to Thursday. So I'm supposed to run 6.2 miles today but I won't because I'm going to the gym tomorrow... I think on Friday, Saturday Sunday I will just lift the empty bar (i.e. 44lbs) for bench, squat and deadlift, and als some light dumbells on my arms and shoulders.
It will be nice to feel a part of something again. Still waiting for my brass band to start back.

If I had AIDS and had a weak immune system, I wouldn't expect all the healthy people in the world to accommodate my vulnerability. If I was diabetic, I wouldn't expect the whole word to reduce the sugar content in every product.
I'm sorry to say this. . . . . . but if you have a medical condition, then that belongs to you and not to anyone else. If I had AIDS then I would have to take ownership of that and try live my life. If I was vulnerable to Covid19 (or coronavirus or whatever the fuck they're calling the 2020 flu), then I would have to take ownership of that and try live my life.
If there is another similar pandemic 60 years from now when I am in my 90's, then I will accept that I'm in my 90's and that my body's falling apart, and I won't expect all the 15-year-old's to stop their weekly football training because I'm overstaying my life visa.

Our dumbass governor (D) got over ridden by the state house and senate (R) so our gyms have been able to open back toward the end of May. My gym waited till June 1st.

In FL they were saying over 50 hospitals are at maximum capacity. Again, I don't think this is a political thing, but more so a problem with hospitals not having enough room for patients. Even if you yourself don't get COVID, but you break your arm, what are you going to do when the hospitals near you are full and they can't take you?? Or God forbid, something even more serious requires medical attention.
It's not just old people dying, young in-shape people are dying too.
All your house and senate (R) care about is $$PROFIT$$ and getting reelected. At least democrats care about lives and the welfare of the community.

Around here they set certain floors of hospitals for covid patients I was in the ER in the middle of it and the hospital was literally a ghost town everyone is afraid to go. Not to mention our governor sent covid patients to nursing homes instead of using the field hospitals that were set up causing thousands of elderly to get infected.

Down here in Florida they are building a few new Crunch's right around me. They are just starting but have tents outside where you can sign up early and get T-shirt and things. Wonder if they always do that or its a Covid thing.

Damn shitty politicians, delaying everyone's side!
The governor of the state where I live, has banned the reopening of the academies, and on top of that is fining those who are opening in clandestine mode.
My friend received a notification by city hall inspectors, saying that his academy was being fined for opening irregularly!
Fuck, since then I've been making do with some weights here at home. I don't know how long this damn politics can last.
My focus has been on buying bodybuilding equipment!

Is it ok to quote myself?? Whatever.
At work yesterday I had to final inspect a huge custom house, I go in and the home owner was there with a Crunch shirt on, then we are talking and it turns out he owns the Crunch's here in Florida. They are opening 6 and he says LA fitness is changing their name in order to try to keep up. He offered my wife and I memberships but there was people there, Im not even able to take a water from someone so I had to decline. Im going to go down to the sign up spot today and talk to them. I feel pretty good, it will be opening end of August so Ill be ready to hit the gym again......pretty stoked.

All good here in (rural) Canada. My new gym just opened up last Friday, and I just got in from my first workout in almost 3 years.
You now have to book your workouts ahead of time by calling in, online, or when you're at the gym. They are 1 hour blocks and then they close for 30 minutes so they can clean the place and then they open again. Only difference is that you have to wear a mask when entering and leaving the gym, and clean equipment before and after use. No mask required when working out. Every other cardio equipment is off limits to allow for distancing. Showers are also off limits.
I did 3 exercises (flat db bench, incline db bench, tricep pulldowns) and my arms and chest feel like they are going to explode. I am so horribly weak and out of shape but damn was it good to see some fit booty workout again.
