Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr exhibition match..thoughts?
So Tyson getting back in the news after 15 years. 54 years old supposedly facing a 51 yo Jones Jr...
Epic? Or even worth watching? I personally think it may very well be a very boring fight lol. Thoughts?

Man, I hope it lives up to its potential from 20 years ago! Pound for pound my money is on Tyson but hard to think of two 50 something year old dudes swinging for the fences. I bet it’s exciting for a couple of rounds and then they gas and throw haymakers...
Just glad they’re not wearing headgear. I’m good with 12 oz gloves too
(Love this thread by the way)

I'm pulling for Tyson to have a performance that will get him the fight against Fury. Tyson's going to have to put Jones down early like back when he KO'd Berbick in the first round if he want's to get that fight.
I'm not expecting much though.

whole thing is a joke. Tysons last couple fights 20 years ago he got knocked around, beat up.
Jones is not even heavyweight or was ever known for his strength or chin.
if they were serious Tyson would drop Jones before the 1 min mark in round 1.
this is a paycheck fight. would not pay for it at any cost but def will not miss it.

Jones was never a heavy weight either, not close. Dude was a light heavy at best.
Tyson on the other hand....
Jones has the faster hands in the game at one point, an unorthodox style and could hit you with a hook from 10 different angles, there’s at least some style differences that could make it fun.
If gets out of the 3rd, I think it favors Jones as it gets into the deeper water. Then again these dudes aren’t spring chickens...

Unfortunately, Once Tyson left Gus, it was downhill from there. He could have been one of the greats and left as that.
Too much money and fame too fast, led to his downfall.
It’s sort of sad that he needs to do this at this age.
Him and Rich Gaspari were my sports figures in the 80’s.

Im kinda thinkin Jones will take it if it goes passed 3 rounds, Mike never was one to go the distance and he sure as hell wont now at 54. Things will change as time gete closer but right now i got Mike winning in the first 3 rounds by stoppage

They say last thing to go in a boxer is punching power. Tyson takes it

How many of you guys think this fight is going to be a "work" instead of a legitimate fight? Jones probably only agreed to this "exhibition" if Tyson agreed to work his punches. Jones will do "the job" get a big payday and Tyson will get that fight with Fury that he wants.

These are two legends...
I think they’re going to try and beat the shit out of each other. Iron Mikes body may be in its 50’s, guarantee his brain still thinks it’s in its 20’s..

Hopefully Tyson beats him good..I was one of his biggest fans..his lost to Douglas, and conviction and ego destroyed the career of possibly the best knock out artist ever to live..

He had a ability not seen often, to reduce the toughest men to fear and turn their lights off through pure brute strength..Hope in my lifetime, I see another like him..Peter Mc Neely lol perfect example of a saying I love, everyone has a plan untill they get hit..

Tyson does not need the money, this isn't for a paycheck. He's been around this whole time, on Youtube mostly. He has a Youtube channel called "Hotboxin' with Mike Tyson." His co-host is Eben Britton, ex NFL player. They have huge stars on the show, and it seems very successful. He's been on the Joe Rogan podcast. There is a video of him sparring, with incredible speed and intensity for any age.
He's also a part owner of a huge marijuana coop and has a lot of investments. Dude is not hurting for money.
He did a few ayahuasca trips and came back more peaceful, and according to a few videos I watched, he said he almost hated his old self and the violence in boxing. Not sure what is motivating him to fight now, but whatever it is, I hope he gets what he wants and remains healthy.

Supposedly Fury already turned the fight down with Mike Tyson bc the payout was only 10 mill
