Your opinion!
Does a bodybuilder being tall in stature and wingspan put him at an advantage over other competitors?

I agree.
Man, loved the “giant killer” (Danny Padilla) in the day. And Lee Priest? Yikes!

In competition, it is rarer to see a tall guy with the same muscle fullness as a smaller statured guy. So, therefore, in competition, being taller is usually a hindrance. There may be a very slight advantage to being taller, all things being equal in regards to muscle density, but in bodybuilding, it’s not the height that wins competitions.
Subjectively speaking, it all depends on preference. I think shorter and taller guys can both look impressive. It’s like cars - there can be coupes, cabriolets, 4-doors, trucks, of all types of shapes and all be awesome in their own way.

I don't it's necessarily height that matters so much as it is a frame that can support a lot of muscle in the right proportions. And then you have fullness and roundness of the muscles to factor in.
I wouldn't really worry so much about things like this that you have no control over. People who bodybuild aren't exactly going to stop, because they don't have the best frame or anything like that. You don't have to ever go on stage to bodybuild. Of all the thousands of people who do this, only a small handful of them will ever even go on stage and only a very small handful of them will go on to top levels.
So yeah, just enjoying doing it. I mean, if you don't enjoy it, then you should probably find something else to do.

Imo; I do not agree !
Well non-competitive bodybuilding amateurs, is are competitive in a way. We always look to be bigger than the big guy in the gym, even if we don't want to play this game, let's face it whether we like it or not... The fitness world / bodybuilding is competitive.
And my opinion is that a taller guy with good genetics will always be in front of a shorter guy with good genetics. You can take two bodybuilders in the same weight category, but the smaller guy will never have the backs like the guy's with greater height.
As Cylon said up there, the bigger the screen, the more space to work. I know you said that what matters in bodybuilding is muscles fulfilled regardless of height, but the big guy comes out ahead!

Regarding other sports I'm very eclectic to practice all of them, but weight training is the basis of all of them.. Even football players, basketball players strengthen in strength training so, I don't see any reason to stop practicing, even though I know that I don't go as far as a lot of guys who were born privileged in genetics.

I think in a higher level competition it’s got to be harder for the shorter guy to stand out.
Danny Padilla in the 81 Olympia, with a beautiful physique. I liked him better than Franco that year. However next to Lou?

He competed with heavy nipple gynecomastia , he didn't even deserve to be in the top 10, but he won. When the judges decided that Franco Columbu was the winner, all the other competitors even left the stage. In 81 he didn't deserve!

At that time, letrozole was used more for gynecomastia , even though Dan Duchaine later discovered that Novaldex was better and friendlier...

Lol Lou makes him look like a child there. In the real world, in person and not social media the big tall guys will attract all eyes in the gym.
Judging bodybuilding is a little different take Paul Dillet and Shawn Ray…Paul absolutely destroyed him in size but Ray always beat him on the score card

What a magnificent story! How did this USH work to fight gynecomastia at the time?

Wango, concerning Franco (you should get the location here):
I went with my bodybuilder big brother to see Franco at Sportmart in River Oaks (Wango...???). He was there for a BB seminar and to sign and sell his book. During the book signing, I found a piece cardboard on the floor in the shoe section, waited in line, and handed the piece of cardboard to a downward looking (he was focusing on signing his books) Franco. He grabbed the piece of paper, looked up at this skinny little kid, smiled and signed the paper...
Unfortunately, I no longer have that piece of paper...

I’m smiling because I haven’t heard “Sportmart” in years. As a south sider, I’m guessing you were a Sox fan?
Very cool of Franco. I’ve only gotten one autograph at a book signing & when the writer looked up and into my eyes and smiled (a female, lol), it felt very sincere and I never forgot it. It was a cool moment.
