    World's Strongest Man 2023....

The World's Strongest Man is coming to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina between April 19-23, 2023 !!!

If there aren't any major malfunctions on my end of things, I may have to burn a vacation day or two and ride out to Myrtle Beach!
Even just going for a day or two of prelims would be awesome!!!
There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...

I love that, "...back when it was on espn.", I'm not alone here thinking, "Man, I can remember when the World's Strongest Man was on Wide World of Sports, and I saw Franco carrying a refrigerator."...

Nowadays, Mariusz Pudzianowski is, and has been, fighting MMA, in the Polish KSW Federation. He is more of a spectacle than a fighter, although in the last 8 yrs he has greatly improved his technique (If you want to call it that.), and his stamina, as he has shed a lot of weight. He is basically a Polish pop icon, who isn't fighting for the money, as he has a few somewhat successful companies, in Poland. The people here love him, as can be expected.

I'm hoping Brian Shaw makes it to the finals in his comeback/final WSM.

I don't think anyone believes he has a shot at winning (including himself), but good final showing will be a nice end to his career. I kind of wish Eddie Hall and Nick Best were in it too.

Did you hear about Nick Best losing a kidney?

Yeah he had kidney cancer. On his youtube channel, I left a comment to him telling him about how I've been training still for the last 21+ years after losing a kidney. I also told him that if anything training will aid him in his recovery.

He seems like a good guy. Sucks that it happened to him. But, if he didn't drop that weight on his chest and get checked out at the hospital for it, they never would've spotted the cancer until it was a lot worse. God blessed him that day.

Yes, He did. I'm betting Callie Best was blindsided by it after losing her first husband, Jesse Marunde.

For those of you that aren't familiar with Jesse, he was a hell of a guy. If he wasn't in a rush to catch a flight or something, he would sit and talk lifting, nutrition, injuries.... anything strength related.

I'm glad to see that Nick still has plans to set more records. He's one hell of an iron warrior!

His strongman career really didn't even start until he was in his 40s. That should be inspiration for more people that life doesn't stop just because you've had a few birthdays.

I wished The History Channel didn't cancel that show he did with Eddie Hall and Brian Shaw after one season. I got in watching it. It was cheap to produce and had pretty good ratings, it made no sense to get rid of it.

I remember watching this instead of cartoons in the 90s and early 2000s on ESPN.
Wish I had the money to go this year.
    Maybe I will.

Unless I can catch a pay to stream site and go somewhere ( usually an unused fire tower) to get a good signal, I have to wait until Wide World of Sports airs what little footage they show. So far, it's just the finals and they break it up over a period of weeks.

ESPN's programming is flat out pathetic.

Yet they push this trash non stop. I guarantee you, the finals of worlds strongest man would get more viewers than whomever these new "big 3" are...

I never watch espn because they don’t cover the sports I enjoy, not that there are that many. But I went somewhere the other day and espn was on the tv and my god…. They are so woke and political, it was barely even about sports it seemed like. Absolutely painful to watch.

The organizers of the WSM should stream it live on YouTube and then sell commercials on it themselves. Easiest way to not have to deal with those libtards is to cut them out of the loops entirely.
