    Lightbulb Questions about HPTA

Why is excess estrogen in the hypothalamus suppressing the pituitary gland to begin producing luteinizing hormone LH and follicle-stimulating hormone FSH?

Because that one of the things the hypothalamus is looking for. When it sees excess estrogen, it slows testosterone production in men, because estrogen comes from testosterone. This is why some (few) men are able to use low dose AIs as solo HRT. The reduction of estrogen sends the signal to increase test production.

I believe that AIs as TRT are not a viable alternative to testosterone based TRT, as I suspect it is a "Mister Brownstone" thing. That is, the body always tries to stay in stasis, and the reduction of estrogen would eventually lead to needing more and more for the same effect. I don't know about this for sure, it is speculation on my part. And of course, this ignores the other negatives (joint pain, immune system suppression, libido, etc) that low estrogen causes in men.

If your question is more meta, like "But why does the hypothalamus look for ESTROGEN instead of something else?", I haven't a clue. That's just the way it is.

What generates excess estrogen in the hypothalamus, that's my question. The only thing I know is that Nolvadex + Clomid can combat this feedback due to them competing for the same receptor. So bro, I'm here curious to know what causes this excess estrogen in the hypothalamus that causes LH and FSH to be interrupted.

If you have the answer send me

Hello brother, here is some speculation on my part; Could it be that the hypothalamus first notices the increase in E2 estradiol with the use of high doses of exogenous testosterone and thus inhibits the pituitary gland?to manufacture the precious LH and FSH??Could this be it or am I wrong?

Disregard it, I think E2 should have nothing to do with it.

It is a very complex subject, because looking at it from a realistic perspective, E2 estradiol can be controlled with aromatase IA inhibitors, so why the hell does excess estrogen get? high in the hypothalamus! The only thing I know is that we were educated to use Clomid+Nolvadex to combat this feedback that I don't even know what it's caused by in the brain.

*** The hypothalamus perceives testosterone coming from an external source and thus inhibits the production of LH and FSH with increased estrogen there...

I'm truly lost, I don't know anything about this.

It feels like you are asking the "why is the sky blue?" question. There could be a number of reasons for "excess" estrogen... body fat, alcohol use, soy, etc or even just individual response.

In other words, the answer to the question of "why is the sky blue?" is "because the sky is blue." Yes, there are a boatload of reasons that science will give us about the sky being blue, including that it isn't REALLY blue,it just looks that way, but at the end of the day, you can still ask "why" and the answer becomes "because" or more likely "who really knows?"

Good luck in your search for answers. This has exhausted my knowledge on the subject, and to be honest is way more detailed than I have felt the need to go.
