how much do you shrug??????
no matter how much weight i put on it feels like it isnt doing anything... right now i have 100lbs on a bar and im like ;\ ok .. it only starts to feel effecting on the last 2-3 reps of the last set of 10 (3 sets). i was wondering, if i goto a gym and do shrugs on a smith machine would people get mad? or what.... i just wanna see how much weight i can go up to...

depends on gym, my gym nobody uses smith machine but urs might be different, btw, u in wrong forum

i do mine with 315lbs with a barbell and its eazy as hell

I have done shrugs on the smith machine....5 45's on each side...nobody in my gym will get mad....well they haven't said anything yet.

load up the weight. Most peoples grip will fail before they get to too heavy a weight. Learn to use straps. Not sure what your body weight is but at 215 I like to do 385 for 4 sets of 10-12. Dumbells can be fun to.

I have problems doing the 2lb pink dumbells. I scream during my sets. Is something wrong with my traps?

i go up 2 80 lbs dumbells, and 225 when using a bar, yet traps are one of my best bodyparts...ive found they respond better using high reps.

Whatever is in my sig....I dont dumbbell anymore because my gym only goes to 120 and I dont feel it at all even if I do 4 sets of 12....

i shrug up to 705x5 on straight bar. if you want big traps you have to shrug heavy. I will warn you though, YOUR NECK WILL DISSAPEAR =-)

3 sets on smith 225lbs, 315lbs, 405lbs

For some reason whenever I do front shrugs and then follow them up with rear shrugs, grab the bar behind you and shrug up, my traps get super sore. I can hold more weight on rear too and it is the only thing that makes me sore....It feels weird at first since you can hit your ass with the bar often and you dont travel as far for the ROM.

I just started a new routine with my traps. I'll start of with dumbbell shrugs and won't go higher than 100 then right after the set I'll go to the standing calf raise, put on 300 lbs and shrug my shoulders for about 12. I do about 4 sets of these. It kills my traps and after not seeing my family and girl for about two weeks that's the first thing they noticed was how big my traps got. I also had a girl sitting behind me point them out. Before this my traps sucked and weren't worth shit. I just feel that you can get your traps to hypertrophy by resting heavy weight on them. My 2 cents.

i do the same thing. big ol legs
i only shrug that heavy right before a powerlifting meet. In the off season i hardly ever go past 495x10
I love dumbell shrugs also
