i don't think anyone is jealous of him, they just don't like the way fred durst has achieved his level of fame, you gotta admit, he can't sing, he can't rap very well, and basically, he just got lucky by being on a record that was commercially successful

everybody hates U2, and for good reason, they stink, I like REM a lot, they seem to be one of those bands with a distinctive sound that you either love or hate, speaking of sellouts, how much money does warner bros. pay radio stations to play Red Hot Chilli Peppers songs every hour?

Red Hot Chili peppers sucked. Never understood what people saw in them. And I'm from So Cal. Also, Eminem sucks. No talent ****er. 50 cent sounds like 5 cents worth of talent. Liked a couple REM songs, ( End of the World, Everybody something), but thought the rest sucked. And of course, Limp Bizkit sucks. Always wonder why the chicks liked Fred Durst. He must have some really good drugs.

I'd defend the rap artists (at least most of them) that have been mentioned, but i learned a long time ago, that it's not a debatable topic - you either love it or hate it...no big deal either way IMO...
but I'll say this - i love tupac and big - but the albums that they are releasing these days are the songs that they didn't think were good enough to put on the record while they were alive...they're second rate songs - they're still decent (if you like this stuff) but not on the level of their other songs...
same sort of thing for em - you may not like him - but he's got some skills and has been extremely smart about the way he's done things...
and for my vote, i'd go u2 and metallica the past few years.

oh yeah, i hate red hot chili peppers-u2-rem-dave matthews band too...and its good to know that im not the only person that hated nirvana. props to asy1 and echobeach, strength in numbers bros.*lol* i like musicians who can acutally play their instruments. ever since 'grunge' hit its been like RIP guitar solo. i just wanna hear some straight up ass kickin good time hard rock w/o rap influences. ALL HAIL METAL!!!(this includes death-glam-speed-heavy-thrash-black-power...i welcome the demise of NU-METAL and rap metal and all false metal where people just make weird noises with their instruments instead of playing them)
and alice in chains, just kick ass!

1. Brittany Spears while not a band is a creation of slick marketing. She is not very pretty and lots of women have better bods.
2. Blink 182 is so overhyped, minimal musical talent.
3. Metallica sucks. Way overated. Ruined Napster.
4. Any rap "artist". Why middle and upper class white kids want to emulate ghetto street thugs and listen to rap is beyond me. It's called "the Ghetto" for a reason. Try walking through it at night white boys.

Markas - last post was on point.
Hate Dave Matthews - overrated
Red Hot Chilis (luke warm?) and Aerosmith are both re-releasing the same sappy single over and over (under the bridge and crying) when both used to rock. The comment about "who is paying them to play the Chilis" was awesome.
Love Alice in Chains. Depressing but great.
Staind also keeps making the same melancholy crap. Their first album was great. The last song on the album kicks ass. They toured with Korn and Korn let them come out and play one of their songs in the middle of the Korn set and they totally did it justice. Now they just keep rerecording "outside" and just put a different title on it.
Metallica's last few efforts may have sucked but I appreciate them recognizing that they need to get their balls back on the last album even if it didn't turn out so great. I appreciate that they tried to get heavier. You can say that they suck now but go to a Metallica show and you will come out happy. Every time.
I didn't like Nirvana but I thought he was a decent songwriter.
I don't see the big deal about the Beatles and Stones but then I didn't live through those times so I can't comment.
I think most rappers today suck. None of them have good voices...the casual observer can't tell one from the other. They put no effort into vocals or (obviously) lyrics. As a rapper the only think you have to do is write lyrics and rap them. You don't even need musical talent. The least they could do was try to come in with a good delivery. I liked guys who at least sounded like they tried. Chuck from Public Enemy was the best. Cypress, House of Pain, Cube. These other clowns recently just mumble along.
