What to use for downloads?
I got some virus on my computer the other week and had to clear about everything out. I used to have Kazaa, and now am wondering what is the best out there currently. What do you all use? Is it safe? Free?
Thanks!

Kazaa Lite++ is the best for sure. I don't have a direct link handy but I think if you google K Lite ++ you can find it.

Some more info:
A user review on the TechIMO Forums states...
quote:Russian copyright law is completely different from that found in North America and many parts of Europe. At present, the law is written to favor end users and third party distributors. Copyright laws typically cover fees for both the performing artist and the record company. In Russia, the performing artist does get paid, but the record companies are not being paid a fee for every tune downloaded or sold - they are paid by an annual contract flat fee. Thus, Allofmp3 does have its paperwork in order to stay in compliance with Russian laws.
Do the ever-powerful RIAA know about allofmp3?
quote:The RIAA is completely aware of Allofmp3, but their hands are tied. Russian courts will not recognize a suit by the RIAA filed in their country. The RIAA has little regard within Russia's own record company associations, and Russia considers the potential revenue to be earned by online services to be enormous, and they avoid regulating them. The RIAA will get a hostile response to any attempted legal action. Further, the RIAA will never successfully subpoena customer records and cannot track IP connections with the service, so the potential of the RIAA suing end users is right up there with a blizzard in Cuba.
Sure it costs something (nothing in the big scheme of things), BUT, and I'd LISTEN TO THIS you may want to use a prepaid visa or MC gift card, as Russia isn't exactly known for it's protective legal system. It is, however, getting very favorable reviews.

WinMX has ****loads of songs......just not as many videos as Kazaa used to have. Oh well, I'll live. Free music is still better than buying those expensive CD's.

I haven't gotten any viruses from Kazaa Lite++. I dowloaded Norton Anti Virus from them (for free) as well as Microsoft Office and loads of other stuff. My computer is on 24/7 downloading $hit. Full length movies, porn, and all that good stuff.

Well i downloaded winmx. It really doesnt have crap for videos, or some of the music i want. I usually download stuff like south park, simpsons, seinfeld, then music, etc. I think i may have to resort to kazaalite. I kind of hate to since Sony/Korn tried to sue me a few years back for using kazaa. Anyone have another good site to use? Thanks!
