I have a bad habit. I love it, but what's the deal? Are my ****ing teeth gonna fall out after 5-10 years? I really have NO IDEA how bad this crap is... help me before I get gingivitis.

It's bad bro.. I had to get a tissue graph from the roof of my mouth to my front lower gums.... I also have a lump on my tongue that my doctor is keeping an eye on... I chewed for 14 years....Copenhagon for the last 7.. A can a day for the last 3 years.. It's a bad habbit, and it was/is very hard to quit...
Good luck.

I think it depends on how much you do. A can ed, well yea, your gonna have probs. I can use the same can for 2 months. I do it like twice ew. kinda like cheat days bro. I know a doc with a phd, that chews. the guy is 60 yrs old. He told me he has seen hundreds of cases of lung cancer, but very few cases of lip cancer from chew. Moderation is the key bro.

I hear some funny stories from the guys who dip at work about them being at parties and spitting in beer bottles and crap, then some drunk mofo comes over and drinks that crap. Thats wayyyyy more nasty than dipping itself

Gimmie some fuking kodiak!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, it is terrible.. I've never developed a really bad habit (in my opinion), A can usually lasts me about a week, maybe 4-5days at the least.. I think it is very terrible, but i get one hell of a head rush from it..

I believe dental problems should be the least of your worries. Chewing tobacco is real bad for causing mouth and throat cancers. If I were you I would try to quit as soon as possible. I am a former smoker and I can't even describe how good it feels to be rid of that stuff.

I've only been at it for a year now. Used to only do it when I was drinking. Now that its mroe common figured I'd ask. I probably go through 2-3 tins/month now - probably a pussy amount compared to some, but nonetheless not healthy.

i just enjoy it too much-
the main reason i want to quit now is how increadibly expensive it is.. i just moved here to TX and a flipping can of copenhagen runs near 5 bucks!!!! thats 5 dollard a day for my stupid ass addiction! RP7 quit now before it gets out of hand, trust me

I started that **** in highschool, did about 3 cans a week my senior year, mostly because i thought it was cool that i could get away with it in class without the teacher noticing, but then when i went to college i was already addicted and me and my roommate used to go through 15 cans a week together, wasnt much else to do in the dorms besides chew, drink, play video games, the occassional studying..... Ill tell u what scared me though, got me to quit for a while, i chew occassionally now, but two years ago i was gun hunting over thanksgiving. The phone rang, a call to my dad about how is good work buddy died on thanksgiving from mouth cancer. 35yrs old, 2 children. Then to top it off, the next day, i had a huge red and white wound in my lip.... SCARED ME SH!TLESS
The only thing that makes it hard to totally stop chewin is that it gives me somethin to do when i need to supress hunger, bad idea though when u think of what can happen

Yeah . . . chewing tobacco is bad news. You can get terrible cancers in the mouth and throat. You mouth is very vascular and with the fiberglass in these products, the harmful chemicals and foreign bodies can damage tissue very quickly. It is at least as harmful as smoking, maybe moreso. It can also be disfiguring, as one of our bros pointed out. Do whatever you need to quit.
