AIBO....The Dog Robot
I have my neighbor over here with his new toy. This thing is unbelievable!
It learns just like a real dog... you can program it to do just about anything.
It even lifts it's leg to pee...thank goodness nothing happens.
But the best part about it is....the dog takes pictures.. Yep, you can program it to take pictures of certain surroundings and download it when you get home. And....when it's time to be recharged, the robot goes and recharges itself.
It even took a picture of my dog when it was over here. It's the coolest thing.. only now, my roomie and I are a little concerned with the pictures getting out of hand. This could NOT be good.
I even asked him to program the dog to do a double bicep pose! It doesn't get any better than that!.. what a way to waste your money...but I guess if you have money to blow,,, why not! At least these pets don't die or have vet bills. Or one should hope not for what you pay for them.

Huh . . .
Does it respond to speech and petting like a real dog? Maybe I should get one for the shop . . .

I personally think it's a waste of money, but it is a good conversation piece to say the least.

baby - I think the amazing thing is that it could well be that in 20 years a robot pet is fairly common - and it be very advanced over what you are seeing now - and cloning favorite dead pets is also a likely advance
