My day at the gym!!!
1st I would like to say .. I LOVE SPRING BREAK.....
All the little fatties are gone flaunting their fat at the beach... I have the gym to myself!!!
Today was cardio day, just another normal cardio day....
But today I got creative.
Normally I go in, get on one machine, and stay for 30 mins. I do this for a couple of reasons....
1) there are to amny people and so few machines that once you get on a machine, if you want to keep it, you don't step away from it.
2) I only use the Eliptical because I know how to use it and don't want to look like a mornon pressing buttons on some foriegn machine.
Well with no one there to look at me funny, and 90% of the machines avalible, I went to town!!!
This is what I did
20 mins Treadmil at a level 9 incline (156 cals)
10 mins Bike (67 cals)
12 mins fast paced walking (almost a mile, so close to 100 cals)
10 mins Rowing (86 cals)
10 mins Eliptical (84 cals)
6 mins- 20 flights StairMaster (53 cals)
TOTAL= 1 hour and 8 mins of cardio (546 cals)
This is no joke!!! I now feel very experienced in the cardio room and have no fears of people watching me!!! Just thought I would share.. tell me about your workouts today!!

Thats pretty good Princess. I dont think I have the desire to do that much cardio at one time.
And benching the bar isnt that bad for a female, I see many that cant even do that.

why does everyone care about how many calories the machine says they burned? do you know how many of them calories are fat, and how much are muscle? if you dont then your probably doing it at a heart rate higher then your target and your burning all that hard earned muscle away and keeping all your fat!.
so again i ask? why does everyone care how many calories the machine says you supposilly burned?

no all the machines I used have those heart rate things and I dont go over the heart rate for cardio/fat burning

this may sound stupid to you , but right now as long as Im burning fat off, I'll be ok with some of the lean muscle going with it.. I can build that back up later as I start hitting the heavier weights...

JC, fat is the body's best<most energy per unit> source of energy, that's why the body is so reluctant to part with it. I'm sure you know this and I am just misinterpreting your post.

stairclimbers kill me. I feel like I ran 27397823 miles after I get done with 30 minutes on there.

i hate cardio, too. I'd rather go to the track and run than be on those machines...

I'm pretty sure that if you do over 30 minutes of cardio you die. At least thats my theory and I am sticking to it.

My roommate, at least one of them, is a semi pro mountain biker who just switched over to road biking, like me, and we now have a permanently stationed trainer bike (the kind where you lock your road bikes rear tire in the training machine) and we sit around watch movies and ride that thing for hours....
So, yeah, I know what cardio is.... but my roommate can kick my ass from here to highwater on the bike, the man is a cardio monster, endurance like a MOFO, its awesome, but I'll stick to being able to bench his weight and not have that cardio condition!

But good to mix it up Princess!

Actually though I was pretty psyched about my cardio today too. There's a couple isolated places I like to run around over here, but I got bored of them, so I went running and did some exploring in a place where I found sort of a forest thats been kind of cleared and there's these huge hills that are basically built from cleared/moved earth. Anyways I found one that was pretty steep and tall so I was excited, the other hills I know of around here are at a much lower gradient, so this is definitely something exciting for me (as dumb as it sounds).

Darn Girl, way to go.
I can honestly say that I would have stroked out and been carried off on a stretcher had I tried that much cardio in one sitting.
Let us know how the iron goes on Monday!
Keep up the good work.
