Well I was happy sub contracting for a cool boss until he died and I was forced to choose between starting my own company or working for some tool who bought out the current company.
Starting out was rough if you dont have the credit or cash you need to compete with the big boys. Luckily, I was good enough to hang in there and had some cool guys to throw me their extra work.
Right now, I consider selling it all and working a more established company. The benifits of
NOT being self employed. You dont have to worry about finding the work
You dont have to worry about collections
You dont have to worry about expenses such as vehicles or equipment (usually)
BEING self employed.
You can do whatever you want (within reason)
You can take the day off if you want
Your decisions.
The pride gained with growing a successful business from scratch.
Usually pays 100 percent more
I no longer want the hassles but I still want my freedom. I would have less stress but I would be making less by half but getting more work. Plus I would have a good amount of money to put into my other plans.
