Yea, this was posted about a month ago also. Pretty cool stuff. Im wondering if myostatin is turned off for like two years, allowing a lifter to get absolutely huge, and turned back on after those two years (to keep the heart and stuff from exploding), will the muscle gains stay?

Myostatin inhibition, i perceive, will be a double-edged sword. Yes.. it'll push the envelope for muscular development. BUT it will bring up some personal life-changing questions.
"DO i want to be ugly?" (inhibited growth of contractile muscles WILL include voluntary facial muscles... i.e. expect exaggerated changes in facial structure)
"How far am i willing to go?"
I hope i'm a retired pro before myostatin inhibition becomes mainstream...cus the technology IS near.. and applicable.

Such is a sign of people who clench their teeth during run-of-the-mill activities... (e.g. people with bruxism tend to have overdeveloped jaws)
This indicates that the muscles of the face can be developed..and probably will grow uninhibited if myostatin is binded.
The thought of which.. i'd care not to fathom

This is definitly one of the better threads I have seen. Just makes you wonder what could be done. Imagine a Ronnie Coleman without any myostatin. Scary as hell. However I dont like the idea that anyone could take this and just do 10 pushups a day and become ripped. Takes away all the work ethic from it.

It's not a good thing.
The reason WHY Myostatin is regulated is because of basic movement. Sounds great to put on tonnes of muscle and lose fat, but at what cost? Immobility my man. If muscle never ceases to grow (not only in size, but cell count) you literally would get to a point where you couldn't even scratch your nose.
It's not all it's cut out to be and it literally is taking the term "playing god" to a whole new level.
No good in my books.

I wouldn't be so quick to try something like this. Like nark said...it's a double-edged sword. If we can even come close to attaining arnold, coleman, or flex's physiques without this, why bother if there might be serious repurcussions?

And it's easy as hell to get them, don't think just because you can get it means that you should try it.

They had a very good article in Muscular Development on the idea of playing with this gene. However are we people who go to the gym and train, live healthy, and work hard to get where we are. While this is an awsome post and really interesting. This idea maybe for those who are wasting aways with some sort of desease but it would defeat the idea of training, which we already take all sorts of things to help with, and basically make gyms and the whole enjoyment of the rewards pointless. I think it is not too far off from sticking implants in ur bis or calfs. Its just good to learn more of such methods out there, but there is a line to be drawn If i can basically not lift a finger while still looking, well i dont even know if u would look human, we will defeat the whole idea of training which is the bottom line of this whole site.

Some of us are racing to throw new shiot in our body without ANY research... and others already assume they'll know what problems will occur.
I'm personally under the impression that we are MEMBERS of this board to try to MINIMIZE risk in our pursuits, and to exploit the potentials...
Personalwe ly, it would be disappointing if a person who doesn't work for the results got them from the drug... but can't POSSIBLY be the hypocrites that condescend to them.
Ultimately... I'm surprised by some of you. I thought there were more people here with FINITE size objectives... In fact, now i'm gonna do a poll.

So interesting.
As Ronny said, there is a reason why myostatin is blocked.
