Dude looks like he's wearing an exoskeleton. He can barely even walk with that thing on! How's that legit? (not that I could even approach half that weight)

No doubt im impressed but I'd be a little more impressed if he did it without that armor on

Very impressive.
But the shirts are BS. Why don't they just let them use the cargo loader from "Aliens" that she used to kick the ass of the head alien??
No shirts, or it's crap.

I compete with a shirt but I agree it's getting out of hand. It's no longer about who is stronger, it's about who is better at using their equipment. I use equipment because I like to compete, and all the raw federations are drug tested, and I won't compete in a drug free organization because it's unfair to the other natural lifters.
I think the biggest official raw bench in a meet was Scot Mendelson's 722. He benched 876 in a shirt.

By the way Gene's shirt is so tight that it takes him 45 minutes to get it on. Takes me about 30 seconds to put mine on. After he did that lift, he laid down in the warmup area with icepacks tied to his triceps because the shirt had cut his arms open. I'm not taking anything away from him because he's on another level when it comes to shirt benching, but it is kind of getting out of hand.

I use the black inzer open back denim. Shirts don't need to be super tight. You need to be able to manipulate them. You can wear them high so you can touch weight, and when you go for something heavy you pull it down in the front.
Bro I've seen his arms in person. They're open sores.

The guy didnt bench 600 lbs 5 yrs ago. He lifted at my gym in Pa. Hes gases out of his mine, and a total ****ing idiot. He takes off the shirt....or should i say shirts.....and he is lucky to pull 700lbs.....and thats the truth....bc ive seen it.........plus he might only have to take the bar down 10inches bc hes so f*****fat

Im not into powerlifting, but have always wondered exactly how the shirt helps them....is it mainly for support? I guess its also helps when they have a big barrel chest and short lil stubby arms.

that was ****en awsome!!!!

Only 2 people have:
James Henderson--711
Scott Mendelson--713
Gene's shirt is ridiculous, even by powerlifting standards.

I hate shirts, I hit 550 for two raw, and I would rather have a 550 solid bench than a 1000 lbs shirted bench. I know its part of the sport, but adding 300 or so lbs to your bench is ridiculous, and takes the power out of powerlifting.

My second link won't work because f u c k is part of the file name and the site bleeps it out. If you want to see it, copy and paste the link in your browser, then change the asterisks to the f word.

i guess his legs look skinny compared to his upper body or something, or maybe i saw them in a bad light...
the second site with the "f word" doesnt work when you change the ast. to the f word by the way... i think the "..." after "scot" is messed up
