Hey Iron horse, i ordered that same bottle from www.vitaminshoppe.com i beleive thats the correct addy. I've been taking 2 pills a day. My hair was falling rapidly. I've been taking it for about a week now. Haven't notice anything yet. Well the top of my head isn't itching as bad. So it might be kicking in some. Like to hear from others about this dosage.
BTW, I'm not on a cycle yet.

DHT as far as I know can affect the following;
- MPB
- Prostate
- Ance
beta sitosterol, would only be benifitial in combating those things.

IMO propecia, and topical anti-androgens (if you plan on using deca or fina) should be used when on cycle and a month post cycle. (just to be safe). and maybe use beta in between cycles in conjunction with saw palmetto,with b-complex, flax, zinc, and copper. these supplements are all associated with hairl loss prevention. so instead of taking mass doses of beta. IMO making a little hair loss stack out of these supps would be better suited.

beta sitosterol is the main ingredient in saw palmetto, but I see what your saying.. botin is always good for the hair.

Beta-Sitosterol
"What does it do? Beta-sitosterol—alone and in combination with similar plant sterols—reduces blood levels of cholesterol. This appears to be because beta-sitosterol blocks absorption of cholesterol. It has also been effective in reducing symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia."
---------------------------------------------------------------
"Four trials comprising a total of 519 men met the inclusion criteria. All were double-blind and lasted 4-26 weeks. Three studies used nonglucosidic beta-sitosterols and one used a preparation that contained only beta-sitosterol-beta-d- glucoside. Compared with placebo, beta-sitosterol improved urinary symptom scores and flow measures. For the two studies reporting the International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS), the weighted mean difference (WMD) against placebo was -4.9 IPSS points (95% confidence interval, CI,-6.3 to-3.5). The WMD for peak urinary flow rate was 3.91 mL/s (95% CI 0.91 to 6.90, four studies) and for residual volume the WMD was -28.62 mL (95% CI-41.42 to-15.83, four studies). beta- sitosterol did not reduce prostate size. The trial using pure beta- sitosterol-beta-d-glucoside (WA184) showed no improvement in urinary flow measures. Withdrawal rates for men assigned to beta-sitosterol and placebo were 7.8% and 8.0% (not significant), respectively.
CONCLUSION: beta-sitosterol improves urological symptoms and flow measures. However, the existing studies are limited by short treatment duration and lack of standardized beta-sitosterol preparations. Their long-term effectiveness, safety and ability to prevent the complications of BPH are unknown."Last edited by D00fy; 04-08-2002 at 09:05 AM.
