Tanning in the sun and in the beds make it seem like your face got better but all it does is hide it a little bit. In reality i heard the sun isnt good for the face and the same goes for tanning

xplicit that may be true but not all of it. yeah it does cover up some blemishes that u have on ur body but tanning dries up your skin instead of having it oily. i worked construction and i used to have a shitload of pimples on my back without doin juice and after 2 weeks in the sun without my shirt it was alll fuckin gone. i stopped tanning cuz i stopped working cuz i had to go back to school it all came back again so tanning is one of the best things a person should do when have acne problems

neutrogena makes a clear, orange bottle and it works pretty good, can dry you out but keep doing it and the dryness will subside. I also just started tretinoin cream (generic retin a) it has made a big difference in just a couple weeks. the cream is expensive if you have to apply to your back though, doesnt last long.

According to my dermatologist the sun/UV lamps can initially help by reducing greasyness and killing surface bacteria...
but the problem usually lies further beneath the skin and prolonged sun can actually stimutate oiler skin to compensate.
So sunlight/sunbeds are a short-term relief.
Try oxyteracycline or doxyteracycline. I think they're good starting points and are "safe" compared to roaccutane (which I've done twice - with good results by the way )
My two cents, Sleazy

Do a search on the web for ISOTREX, it's a TOPICAL accutane and can only be found in Mexico, it's NOT FDA approved. I think Medsmex carries it (NOT A SOURCE SO DON'T BOTHER trying, only acne & viagra, shit like that) Great stuff, it really dries out the skin...pm me if you have a problem. I'm using that along with a prescription for minocycline (sp) from my dermatologist. I have severe acne on my shoulders & back, always have...AS made it alot worse. Pantothenic Acid didn't do shit for me, I even use rubbing alcohol just to try & dry out my skin.

exfoliate... my gf got me into and it clears my skin right up. Gets rid of dead skin and blocked pours. Be sensible and get a good brand, or you will fuck your face up.
For me it makes the difference. A BIG ONE!

I'm not a Paul mitchell rep or anythin' just lettin' ya know what saved the day for me. Last thing you want to do is step onstage with a minefield on your back. .02

Using an oil&acne fighting astringent just before moisturizing helps too.
To help exfoliate on the shoulders and back i use one of those puffy shower ball things.

I had always thought that you were supposed to stay out of the sunlight... so can go tanning on it too?
