Can you crimp just the coloured flip-top onto an pre-sealed sterile vial?

I'm guessing you can't because there's already an aluminium seal on there, but am not 100% sure.

If you have a crimper you can crimp a top onto a vile that has only a stopper in it. If you don't have a crimper I've heard of people using a butter knife but I can't see this working well. If you want I can pm you a source for crimpers

use a knife or whatever to take off the aluminum while not touching the stopper. im sure plenty half ass ug labs do it
