Does accutane lower testosterone or dht levels in the body? Im currently running it alone 40mg split dose ed and my strengh has dropped significanlty and ive obtained a very extreme lathargic feeling.

Accutane lowers DHT levels. That's one of the reasons if f#cks up your strength. I would stay away from that sh*t. Accutane is basically poison.

Yup, it'll make you pretty weak while your on it. Good news is your strength will come back...eventually.

I ran accutane for 6 months
My acne went away and my strength increased.
My dead went from 495 to 545 in that time span...of course that isnt much of a jump in 6 months(natural), but my strength still climbed slowly but surely.

Accutane dries the piss out of you, dry joints and heavy lifting don't go well together. There are also warnings about not doing strenuous activities while on it as your tendon strength is compromised. There are also warnings all over the packaging and pamphlets about a myriad of side effects, among them, you guessed it...muscle weakness. Severe muscle weakness can be a sign of liver damage. My blood test always came back ok, but my muscles got so sore and my neck and joints so stiff that I had to stick to light weight exercises and cardio. I can't imagine doing 500lb dead lifts on accutane...my back would have cracked. Milt presses, deads, barbell bench...had to stop them all. This was while on 80mg or roche accutane.

Accutane gave me inflammatory arthritis, about a dozen hamstring tears, creaky joints, persistently dry and red facial skin and almost made me blow my brains out. The stuff was purely evil for me.

I never had acne at all, just oily skin, but the dickhead doc still put me on it 'for prevention of acne' lol. That sh*t really took me to hell and back for a number of years. I wasn't taking any other drugs at the time and had never had these problems before I took accutane.

inflammatory arthritis in my fingers, stiff knee joints, Raynaud's phenomenon (very cold hands) lowered bone density (confirmed by DEXA scan), chronically sore shins which made it too painful to run for 2 years, multiple muscle tears when sprinting, achilles enthesopathy (chronic inflammation where the achilles tendon attaches to the bone), suicidal thoughts, social withdrawl, anxiety, obsessive thoughts, high cholesterol for years after stopping accutane, elevated liver enzymes for years after finishing accutane and hypertension.
I think that about covers it. All of these are documented side effects of accutane. Go to http://www.ragforum.com to read posts by other people who have had their bodies screwed up by accutane.
I will be suing my doc soon for wrongful prescription. It should only be reserved for the most severe cases of acne and should never be taken for longer than 3-4 months.

This thread is quite indicative of the paradoxical effects experienced by forum members. Some proclaim it the Messiah, and others eternal damnation.
Obviously, all you can do is monitor your biofeedback and adjust accordingly.

I was on acutane my junior year in high school for 3 months. In that time spand i went from 285 pounds to 230 pounds, was always depressed and nearly tore my knee in half. My bench went from 405 to 355 and i was constantly working out heavy because i was going for a football scholarship. I was being looked at by Auburn, FSU, and USF and all 3 stopped looking at me as soon as i dropped the weight. i even put a hair line fracture in my spine from too much pressure on my back from squats. My whole love for the game stopped and it really messed me up. Acutane isnt anything to play with. I experienced every side effect.

Its pretty serious stuff, but it can work wonders. I had bad acne as a teen and in my early 20's. Having acne can really affect a guy's confidence......that really sucks. The doc prescribed me everything from minocycline, tetracycline, doxycyline, retin A, to differin.....accutane was the only thing that worked. Its some harsh stuff, but in some circumstances accutane is the only viable option. Drink tons of water, stay off the gear and dont train too heavy.
