Probably not post puberty... but I don't know... medical studies don't usually wrap theselves around the cosmetic benefits - but rather clinical use for treating diseaseand such. Probably won't find too many studies comparing exogenous estrogen use and post puberty development of breast tissue in woman... but hell, I'll look it up at PubMed. But how about this curve ball: if testosterone makes the clit grow post-puberty, wouldn't it make the man's penis larger as well?

think about it like this. a woman's chest size will increase when she is pregnant, which is a result of elevated hormone levels.

Re: birth control side effects... It wouldn't be hugely so.. but they would appear fuller
The increased estrogen will influence fat distribution also
Re: birth control weight gain.
Haven't you guys with girlfriends ever notice that while on birth control their breasts get larger?
This usually recesses however.
The males-gyno analogy isn't a good one tho.. as high estrogen is perceived as unnatural in male physiology.. that's why it has a negative feedback.

Seems to be the case with many women... and increased size is normally accompanied by some "growing pains" in the breast...
Pain and increased mammographic density in women receiving hormone replacement therapy: a prospective study
MM McNicholas, JP Heneghan, MH Milner, T Tunney, JB Hourihane and DP MacErlaine
Department of Radiology, University College Dublin, Ireland.
OBJECTIVE. A prospective study was designed to evaluate the effects of hormone replacement therapy on mammographic density in postmenopausal women. The possible association of breast pain with increased mammographic density was evaluated.
SUBJECTS AND METHODS. Thirty-three postmenopausal women undergoing hormone replacement therapy for a mean of 11 months had mammography before and after commencing treatment. As a control, 31 postmenopausal women who never had hormone therapy also had baseline and follow-up mammograms after a mean of 13 months. Subjects were asked whether breast pain, which they graded as mild, moderate, or severe, had developed since their entry into the study. Baseline and follow-up mammograms were assessed objectively and subjectively for interval changes in density. The presence of breast pain was correlated with changes in density on the mammograms.
RESULTS. A subjective increase in mammographic density was seen in nine (27%) of the women taking hormones and in none of the control subjects (p = .002). Changes were focal in four, multifocal in four, and diffuse in one. An increase in density was seen with all types of treatment used, and was noted as early as 4 months after the start of treatment. Seven (78%) of nine patients with mammographic changes had breast pain, which they classed as moderate or severe, that had developed since the start of treatment. In five patients with mild or moderate breast pain, an increase in density was not shown on mammograms. Of the 21 women taking hormones who did not have breast pain, increased density on follow-up mammograms was shown in only two (p = .004). None of the patients in the control group had breast pain.
CONCLUSION. Focal, multifocal, or diffuse mammographic increases in density occur in a significant percentage of women undergoing hormone replacement therapy. A large proportion of these women have breast pain. Increased mammographic density appears to be associated with breast pain in women receiving hormones. This has implications for mammography in women receiving hormone replacement therapy.
The relationship between mammographic density and duration of hormone therapy: effects of estrogen and estrogen–progestin
Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and 2 Department of Radiology, Keelung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Keelung, Taiwan, ROC
BACKGROUND: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of duration of hormone therapy (HT) and treatment regimens on mammographic density.
METHODS: A retrospective study was carried out of of 467 post-menopausal women who received estrogen or estrogen–progestin and had regular mammographic density determination by the Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System between 1994 and 2001.
RESULTS: The fraction of women using HT who had an increase in mammographic density became more important over time. Further analysis of the effects of regimens after 4 years of HT shows that the increase in mean density was much greater in women receiving combined HT than in those receiving estrogen alone. The incidence of increased mammographic density showed significantly progressive increases over the duration of combined HT from 7.5 to 22.4%.
CONCLUSIONS: Although most women using HT maintained breast density at pre-treatment levels, there is a note of caution for women using long-term HT, especially those using combined estrogen–progestin.
I forget... why did we want to know this again? Was this a birth control question or something...
