Customs: How long....
Hi guys,
I was wondering if you could tell me how long ( more or less) takes for international packages to get cleared once they are in US customs. I have a pack in US customs as we speak and has been there for 4 days. Tuesday was a holiday so I wonder if this delayed everything.
Any input would be great.
Thanks

I don't think anyone could tell you for certain, especially as different customs offices are busier than others and have slower turnaround times. But four days esp with a holiday is nothing to be concerned over-probably released today or monday I would bet.

I agree. The holidays can really delay shipping.

How do you know it is hung up in customs? How was it shipped? One thing I learned is if it is being shipped USPS, their tracking system is not very accurate.

Thanks.
I saw the tracking number and it says the pack is inbound in customs.

I had a package at the custom for 2 months now. I'm wondering if I suppose to get a seizure letter?

Customs can sniff out gear packages...just by looking at them most times. These intl shippers try to save $$ by sending gear in manilla envelopes with handwritten addresses and funky return addresses. It reeks of seizure.
Now we have to worry about legit gear and decent shipping!

Do customs actually physically see every peice of mail and package that comes into the US?

I don't think they do. It's probably ramdomly selected.
