UGL's, Why cant we discuss them

I want to discuss this in the open because for the life of me I do not understand this rule. In fact is isnt even in the rules. Here are the rules for those that dont know them

hese are the rules and guidelines of Anabolic Review.

we adhere to these rules for the protection of the board, and its members. there are no exceptions or allowances if you break these rules more than once.

you will be warned......and then banned.

It is highly recommended that you read the posts in the Educational Threads section of Anabolic Review BEFORE YOU POST. You will find many subjects that you have a question about already answered there.

there is absolutely no advertising by steroid sources or dealers. THIS INCLUDES ADDRESSES IN YOUR SIGNATURE LINE OR ANYWHERE IN ANY POST YOU MAKE.

DO NOT post asking where to get steroids . this includes pin and ancilliary suppliers. pm a moderator for instructions on how to proceed with this process.

*** the only exception regarding the above rules on steroid posting involve board sponsors.........this may be discussed with no penalty.****

there is no posting of another persons information without prior approval of the person in question.

we have a strict NO FLAME POLICY. if you continually post harrassing other members, while offering no helpful or useful information, you will be banned.

there is no posting of pornographic pictures or messages. this includes pictures in your AVATAR, as well as links to pornographic websites. we have quite a few female members that reside on A.R., and we intend to offer them the same environment as we do the male population here.

we tolerate no excessive or foul language. we understand people need to vent or get a point across. please just keep it to a minimum.

DO NOT post possible scammers on the main board. the moderators will be happy to handle any scammer problems, and if all checks out, the person in question will be posted on the scammer board.

we ask that you follow these rules to make Anabolic Review a better place for all who reside here.

themudman wrote a sticky a while ago which said this UGL Names in Threads

And I have seen many members flamed and threatened with bans for doing just this. And yet UGL's are freely discussed in the Anabolic Pictures Forums with , from what I can see, no fear of retribution. So what gives guys, I think the argument that the UGL's can be tracked is garbage, there are a billion web sites that talk about ugl's, so why not ours ?

names should not be used in any forum
just pictures

the reason is we disscuss them on the board then if you do a search on gooogle or something like that UGL names come up.

in the intrest of keeping UGL safe we try not to let there names get out

Stocky, names are used in the Pictures forum all the time. Also what stops you reading the UGL names on the labels on the vials and googling those ? This rule is very weired to me. And it needs to be made a rule by the way, because it sure isnt now.

i know my friend your a cool guy you really are. And yes there is problems trying to keep UGL of the open board in EVEY forum.

where just trying to prtect UGL thats all

I didnt know that mate and I am not having a dig at anybody, but the names are on a lot of the bottles and amps which you cant edit it just seems a little odd to me. Plus the fact that it isnt in the rules doesnt make sense either.

i was actually discussing this the other day with some1 mate,you can google a name which will bring unwanted attention on the ugl's wich we have to try to protect,well this board has that policy and i think it is a good one.
now i didnt think you couild google a picture but i have been corrected on that so i dont know wat way we are going to go with this............

No I didnt mean google the picture I mean anyone can read the name on the picture and google it by typeing it in themselves. I am saying that if we are to totally protect the UGL's, and I am all for that as I am on all the time so I need a constant supply

we have to remove the names from everywhere, including the pictures, or am I missing something here ? Here is a perfect example BD Test Enanthate - Orange Tops

yes mate thats wat i was discussing the other day,its either we allow the use of ugl's openly here wich i personally think is a bad idea or we have to have no pictures at all with ugl's in the pictures....
but that is something the system admin will have to decide on at a future date........

It's a catch 22 booz. Either we allow the open discussion of names and pictures and keep members safe from getting scammed/ripped off/bunk gear/etc. Or, we do not allow any posting of UGL names and pictures, which on one hand will assure that LE cannot get the drop on them as easily, but on the other hand give some crooked UGL's impunity when it comes to ripping off buyers.

Personally, I would much rather see the interests of the users/buyers of this forum protected than the UGL's who have safe methods of business as it is. Any good UGL will NOT show up on a google search, other than people discussing them on certain boards about their quality, etc. In the case that a UGL is sourcing on an open source board, well that is really their own suicide at that point.

One thing I have noticed about a certain open source board, is that it keeps the sources much more honest when they have to pay dues and adhere to the board rules and are held much more accountable to buyers. The advantage to dealing with a private source is that you're safety is much more assured since that source is not known publicly and has a slimmer chance of having problems with LE, the downside of not discussing private UGL's is that if they are skimping on quality,T/A time, etc. The users/buyers have no recourse of action to combat such a problem...

The notion that we're 'protecting' UGLs by not posting their names so it cannot be goggled is the dumbest thing i ever heard. Most top UGLs can be found on open source boards all over the net. The owner just does not want the board going in that direction.
