Common mistake which causes injection pain.

If you ever wondered why some injections hurt more than others, one possible reason is that you may be injecting before your alcohol on your skin has completely dried.

We all prep the injection site with an alcohol swab first right?

Well if you don't let the alcohol dry first, you are going to push some of it into your muscle. This will cause some serious pain. Could you just imagine injecting straight alcohol into your muscle? The pain would be unbearable! It only takes a very small amount to cause a huge pain.

Remember to always let the alcohol air dry. Never blow on it. There is more bacteria in your mouth than people on earth. You don't want an infection.

    Just a tip!

i always keep the injection site slightly wet with iso-alcohol. No problems for me. I think what causes a lot of pain may be extended needle movement while injectin'

Sometimes when I'm pushing the plunger down I'll inadvertently start to pull the needle out. When I notice it I'll push it back in....that can't be good for the muscle. Only when I do that is it sore the next day.
