    Hit vein with test

Last night I did my test shot. This time I HIT A VAIN. I registered, but before I got all in my lips started to tingle. A few seconds later my tongue, lips and upper extremities were on fire. MAN WHAT A RUSH. I started sweating profusely and my heart was racing. I went and set in front of a fan for a few minutes and relaxed. 5 minutes I was OK.

You sure about that. I do a bubble or 2 every time I inject. Hope I'm
    alive and not dreaming.

Any errant injection into a vein will first go to the heart and then the lungs. Depending on the volume, you could feel short of breath and cough quite a bit. There is also a feeling of anxiety that can be quite unsettling as a result of being a bit short of breath. The oil can't get directly to the brain, as it gets held up in the pulmonary circulation capillaries (there are rare heart defects that can allow for systemic arterial embolization of the oil -- but again, they are quite rare).

If you aspirate first (note the spelling... please... ) you should not be in a vein unless you move the needle after aspirating. This last point is critical, especially if you are using a long needle (1.5") and only introducing it part way (as into a delt, for example). If the needle moves even a fraction of an inch after you aspirate (and this is pretty easy to do, btw), then it could enter a vein prior to injection.

The safest way to proceed is therefore to use an appropriate length needle, insert it to the hub, aspirate and inject.

    Good luck to you,

    -J

jerol, do u happen to know what happens to the oil in the lungs then? Where does it go or does it accumulate somewhere or what.. cant seem to find an answer for that.. I have my suspicions but..

What has happened to our young folks today? Always smarting off. No respect for others. Looking for any reason to SHOW THERE A**. I am not talking about all young folks, just a few.

Nowhere in my previous post was I bitching. Or asking for any sympathy. I was just sharing an experience with others, that even being cautious and taking every precaution this can happen. I most likely did move a little during the inj and some of the shot got in a vein.

Sorry pops, but you posted this in a "Question and Answer" directory which implies there is a question. Next time post it in the lounge if it's a comment only thread.

Yes it is a ? And answer forum. However, it was not posted as either. Read you smart a** mofo.
Again >>> I know most people visit this forum. Therefore, I posted it there where many would see it.
Again>>> to show importance of being as careful as possible when doing something that is very dangerous. Even Doctors make mistakes. And it only takes one mistake to do damage or even DEATH.

I was making the comment about you and you only. Both your posts were SMART A** REMARKS not even close to an ANSWER>

Actually these problems can occur even if you do aspirate . I have had it happen to me twice where I have aspirated and ended up coughing my guts up. I think the reason why is because I penetrated a vein and the pin went in deeper. Then when I pulled the pin out the juice followed the injection line and seaped into the perferated vein.

Aspirate =draw back on pin plunger after jab, no blood inject. You should start your own thread or a simple search would get you the info

No such thing as legal injectable test.Unless you mean HRT, that is doctor perscribed
