Its not advised to tan on Accutane (Isotretinoin) or any of the Tetracycline familly. Your skin is very sensitive to sunlight and more damage than good may be evident. Avoid exposure to sunlight when possible IMHO.

I've been on accutane all summer and tan. The doc just said i could burn more easily. I normally don't burn at all so it hasn't been a problem

Dont tan on accutane! Your skin is much more sensitive to light. If you do , you risj acne scars. I was on 40mg for 5 months and even being in the sun during the day, as injust bein outside all day made me really red. I woudl wait till you finish your accutane.

20mg/day is a pretty low dosage. I would THINK you would be fine for tanning but I don't know your skintype and whatnot...

Just work into it slowly and see how it goes

Dermatologists openly tell patients NOT to tan and stay out of the sun when possible when using Isotretinoin. They also suggest you use a sun screen/cream if you do spend a few hours in the hot sun. This is evident in the posts above.

You now want to use a sunbed which, IMO, can lead to many skin issues anyway. Knowing your MORE prone to sunburn, no matter what your skin type and going ahead and tanning is stupid IMO.

Use a cream/gel to combat acne/spots, not a sunbed when using this treatment IMHO.

Very good advice. I can't tell people this enough. The short-term coverup does havoc to your skin and body in the long-term.

I tanned heavily while on it, i was just eager to do anything to help my skin immediately, but if the docs advise against than i would hold off...i now have scarring lol

I would look into a cream/gel as Swifto suggested before its too late. Those acne scars really suck. I know. Check out the link in my profile.
