    T3/Cytomel Question????

I was wondering why is it so important to taper down on this stuff when coming off it?

When you stop taking T3, it can take your thyroid a few days to weeks to starting producing natural T4/T3. During this period, it's easy to gain back weight since your metabolism will be lower. The idea is that by tapering down your T3, say from 75 to 10mcg/day or less, your thyroid will already begin producing some T3 and you'll avoid the rebound effect.

agree with above. It is also because there are many stories concerning peole shocking there thyroid by ceasing T3 abruptly and messing there thyroid up for life. I have never actually met anyone who this has happened too but the stories are worrying enough for me to taper!!
