Don't reuse the needle or syringe. It only leads to getting an infection.

I would not reuse a syringe, if you are performing proper injection protocol and you are aspirating etc. It is a matter of cleanliness in my personal opinion, I am sure there are others however who would disagree and say it is ok to reuse. not something I personally do

I was in the military and found tubes and pins hard to come by often. I would use the same tube to draw, and never had any problems. I would change the pins of course, but the tube remained clean every time. Now that getting pins is not as "risky" I would go with the new ones every time. I guess it is just the principle of it. If I went to a hospital and they used the same tube over and again I would think something was up.

If you apply that principle to the little medicine tubes and plastic spoons and measuring spoons our parents gave us as kids, I am surprised I am still alive. I can remember drinking that little shot of syrup and running it under water, shaking it off, and putting back in the medicine chest quite a few times growing up.

    Damn

    This is a no brainer.

Order 100 pins with 20g 1.5. to draw. Then get 100 pins 23 25g 1.5 1.0. they even come with swabs if you get the combo deals For $27.

"Boiling in water for 15 minutes will kill most bacteria and viruses, but boiling is ineffective against prions and many bacterial spores; therefore boiling is unsuitable for sterilization. However, since boiling does kill most bacteria and viruses, it is useful if no better method is available. Boiling is a simple and familiar enough process, and is an option available to most anyone most anywhere, requiring only water, enough heat, and a container that can withstand the heat; however, boiling can be hazardous and cumbersome."

Almost nothing kills prions.......don't re use. Alcohol doesnt kill all the different kinds of bacteria.

    Isnt this obvious to you?

Don't reuse. Spend the extra $0.20 and buy a new one. They are SO cheap, it's stupid to reuse.

Yes but let me clarify this...after an injection, I never use the same syringe to withdraw more (whatever you are injecting) out of a vial...Always a new syringe when withdrawing...Now here are two examples of me using the same syringe.

    1) aspirate and drew blood..pull out and re-poke in a different area.

    2) using syntherol 1 cc in three muscles..I'll fill the syringe with 3cc and use it in three different muscle, IE Triceps 1 cc in ea muscle...

My sister is a nurse and she says not wise to re-use. When aspirating, there may be some blood and that breeds bacteria. I used to re-use syringes. AFter use, I'd immediately fill it with rubbing alcohol and let it sit until next use. Never a problem. Maybe I was lucky.

It took your sister the nurse to tell you this. We have been saying it for days.

Actually, if you look closely you'll see that there was a mixed response. Some said it was probably harmless. Others said it was a risk but probably small. It's just a point of discussion.

Drug addicts reuse needles and or syringes. I do not put us in the same category as them. We use steroids to better are appearance not to take risks or damaging it.

I reuse the syringes..I run BA thru it and add a new needle..Been doing this for over 30 yrs with no problems yet...I guess all it would take is one abscess to change things here...But with over 2000-3000 pokes or who knows how many, I keep doing it my way.

Dude I would have to agree with most of the people here why reuse something that is so cheap? why even consider reusing?
it's not worth it. If you don't have the cash for a box of syringes just give it up.

Gotta admit, I was very tempted and almost had to a few weeks back but then my new ones arrived. I was thinking about doing the same thing you mentioned above, just soaking it in rubbing alcohol. Again, like you, I'm talking syringe not needle. But if I can get 'em easy, which I can, I'll never do that.

That's not from re-using. That's from lack of hygiene. I saw the documentary and he said he was careless - dropping it on the floor and and then using....
