If you get a good enough rep, you can pick and choose the people you train, and you can only train those willing to work. But i bet it takes awhile to get established.

After you have a good client base then you shift to people that are already in shape and look good so that you get a rep as a good trainer. When I first started all I trained was fat people. At the time I f'd my shoulder up and couldnt train for like 6 months all I had was girls with nice bodies and a some elite level highschool athletes.
