Accutane and really bad nose bleeds
I have been on accutane for about two months. For, the first month I was on 80mg ed and month two I was on 100mg ed for 2 weeks. I started my cycle and dealing w/ compounds that can give people really bad acne(dbol , Tren , Sust). I want to keep my acne to min. I noticed I started getting a few zits here and there so I upped the dosage to 120mg ed for the past few days and for the past few days I have been getting pretty heavy nosebleeds.
I get them probably one and no more than twice a day and last only 10min tops, but can you die from having nosebleeds everyday??? Any suggestions b/c I dont wanna get real bad acne like I did on my last cycle.

Few years back when I got prescribed Accutane by my doctor 80mg was the maximum your supposed to take, nose bleeds can be caused by Accutane and taking that much Accutane really seems unnecessary. I had super horrible acne and I was fine with 40mg a day and after 6 months was complelty clear with the only side effect being dry skin and lips.
Edit: I think your taking way too much Accutane.Last edited by dece870717; 03-22-2007 at 06:53 PM.

Def. cut down your dose. You shouldn't be running orals and accutane. Only other thing to do is to try to keep blood levels as stable as possible. Inject the sust atleast eod and keep the dbol intake consistant.

Bro,
Nose bleeds are a comon side effect of accutane. I would read upon it heavily as your dose seems way to large and there are a many possible serious side effects. I started my current cycle with accutane becuase of a previous cycle bout of bacne that left me scared.
I took 20mg for the first week, among some other minor side effects, my lips started to crack and after reading the study below I thought I'd rather deal with the acne. Some people seem to fair well with it, I didn't so I stopped.
Please do the research on the side effects as this is a drug which should be taken seriously. Science knows it works by messing up the way our DNA is read, but they don't exactly what it messes up. This effect is systemic - something to think about while all that protien synthesis is going on during your cycle.
Below are some quotes from a study I found.
"The active component of the acne drug Accutane is 13-cis-retinoic acid (RA), and it is highly teratogenic for the developing central nervous system. Very little is known, however, regarding the effect of this drug on the adult brain. Regions of the brain that may be susceptible to RA are those that continue to generate new neurons. In the adult mouse, neurogenesis is maintained in the hippocampus and subventricular zone. This report demonstrates that a clinical dose (1 mg/kg/day) of 13-cis-RA in mice significantly reduces cell proliferation in the hippocampus and the subventricular zone, suppresses hippocampal neurogenesis, and severely disrupts capacity to learn a spatial radial maze task. The results demonstrate that the regions of the adult brain where cell proliferation is ongoing are highly sensitive to disruption by a clinical dose of 13-cis-RA."
"Accutane, the active component of which is 13-cis-retinoic acid (RA), is the primary treatment for chronic acne. RA induces differentiation and reduces proliferation of stem and progenitor cells, and 13-cis-RA helps control acne by inducing similar events in basal sebocytes (1). These same actions also lead to 13-cis-RA's side effects, and these are directed toward proliferating cells in the adult such as in the skin, gut, and bone."

It takes a while for the accutane to kick in. In three months, it will probably totally eliminate it. Don't up the dose so much. Your liver will be shot. Just give it some time. I stuck it out and barely ever get acne any more. The nose bleeds are normal. It dries out your skin so much and ups your blood pressure a little too. I had at least one nose bleed a day for the first four months too. That shit is harsh on the body. It also dehydrated me too. Watch out for that. I wouldn't up the dose though, especially on the juice

don't up your dose arbitrarily..side effects of accutane can get much worse than what the average person gets..imo finish your accutane propertly then cycle when complete...future cycles acne won't be much of a concern..
plus high dosages of accutane can give you pretty bad achy joints and lethargy which in the end will make your cycle harder...

thanks for the help. Even though I have been running a high dose my sides have not been unbearable, I def. get dehydrated though and always carry chapstick w/ me.
I am loving the accutane, even w/ the nosebleeds. I have had really bad back acne and on my shoulders (witch came from a cycle over a year and a half ago, and on the face it comes and goes. But with running it at 80 and 100mg ed for 2 months my acne on back and shoulders is down substantially and is not nearly as visible.
I think I will drop to 100mg. So you think that the third month is where alot of the 'magic' happens?

3 month treatment for me...acne free since then (14yrs or so) Prescribed doses were higher then though..it is worth all the shitty sides for the end result..
just keep in mind it is potent stuff and if you mess with the effectiveness of the accutane by cycling your Dr. may not be inclined to extend your treatment longer or re-prescribe for a period of time...
