does anyone know this, maybe there is a police officer or someone in the know? i got a customs siezure letter about 5 years ago. only had one, would that show up on a background check for a new job? the background check would be done by the airline industry and tsa! i wouldnt think so but if anyone can shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated. thanks

What ever happends at customs doesnt go to the police station, unless you are charged or something happends with a control delivery. I woulndt worry about it.
Think of it this way, if you dont like someone, you can ship them something illegal and do on purpose for it to get stopped at customs, then they would have a record on file... doesnt make sence

yea i really doubt it unless you took some type of action...because you have no idea why someone would try to ship you something like that...

The only things that show up on police checks are criminal records. If you haven't been taken down the nick and charged, your fine.

Doubt it very much as you are not being actually charged.

***ends what the background check is for.
any local, state or private sector will conduct a normal backgound check of:
criminal - which list all crimes arrested for and court outcomes.
motor vehicle
financial - tax / credit report
Education - grades / displine / attendance
work experience
Medical
All of which you should sign a waiver for.
Customs most defenitly has a record of the letter. There is no customs data base that is availabe to other agencies without a request.
